The northern most part of Finland, Lapland, is the magical arctic region full of contrasts. In fact, contrasts are a key factor in the allure of Lapland where 24-hour sunlight in the summer replaces the dark winter days filled with Northern Lights.
Every season in Finnish Lapland is uniquely different from each other. The inhabitants of the region say that Lapland actually has 8 seasons instead of 4. In the wintertime, Lapland is as close as reality gets to those who dream of a winter wonderland. Spring brings along light that follows the long season of ‘kaamos’ (arctic night in Finnish). During the spring time, the snow covered hills and fells offer exciting experiences for all winter outdoors enthusiasts from skiiers to snowshoe walkers.
Summer in Lapland is a season like no other – there are endless white nights and peaceful arctic nature as far as the eye can see. Summer’s glow is followed by the majestic season of fall when Lapland gets its truly iconic ‘ruska’ colors. This is the best season to go for a hike in one of Lapland’s many national parks. It is meditation and mindfullness all wrapped in one in one of the world’s most unique and breath-taking sceneries. And don’t forget the best and purest air and water this planet has to offer.
After you have recharged in nature, Lapland also offers other interesting places to visit. Meet Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, try one (or two!) of Lapland’s great restaurants, visit a reindeer or a husky farm, venture out to a quirky festival or go look for gold.
Finnish Lapland is all this and more.

Experience authentic Lapland under the Auroras. Our Aurora Cabins offer a fantastic view from the comfort of your bed towards the Northern sky where the Northern Lights most often appear dancing on the sky. Aurora Village is a small authentic local accommodation site where you may experience the pure white snow, clean arctic air and meet a pack of reindeer living in the village with us. Grab a pai
Each room is a free standing circular structure, influenced in its design by the indigenous Sami people of the region. Each has a huge bed with a section of the ceiling of glass so one could lie in bed and watch the aurora. We were there in the off season, so no snowmobiles or aurora to comment on. We could take advantage of the hiking trails. Friendly staff and good breakfast buffet. My only negative was that the hotel rooms have centrally controlled temperature and you have to walk to the desk to have them adjusted. They suggested leaving the door open for a while (which worked) to cool the room down.

Maybe a perfect place for skiing, but nothing more to do in winter. we can't reach the amethyst mine because on Sunday it's closed. The food was good, the room has a sauna inside. Staff was really nice

This little family run hotel has exceeded our expectations. Meticulously clean, our apartment offered plenty of space, all the kitchen amenities and a private sauna. Breakfast was fresh and generous (and catered for intolerances), staff - very helpful and friendly.

Hotel Mustaparta is inspired by the historical figure Iisakki Mustaparta's story. The interior design follows the story and has a touch of sea elements and wood. The hotel is located in the centre of Tornio, close to restaurants, bars and the Swedish border.

Kemijoki riverside located hotel Metsähirvas has 23 unique rooms. The rooms have high ceilings and spacious windows to give you a good look of the stunning beauty of Finnish nature. Parking, swimming beach and use for private outdoors fireplace is free for all the guests. The building of Hotel Metsähirvas is historical. It is from the 1920s and it is one of the rare buildings in Rovaniemi which has remained after the Second World War.

Haawe features 12 rooms and two suites. The rooms are either cosy Superior rooms suitable for two to three people or spacious Deluxe rooms for two to four people. Our spacious, luxuriously furnished suites can accommodate from two to six people, and they all have their own spa rooms and saunas. All our rooms and suites are distinct from each other, but they have a few Haawe-style features in common. They all have a comfortable king-size bed and high-quality bed linen. Each bathroom has a rain shower, and all rooms have their own kitchen. The fabrics and tableware in the rooms are of high-quality Finnish design, and we have also paid extra attention to the bathroom amenities. So feel free to enjoy your stay!
The accomodation is very beautifully decorated, cosy, warm, special, modern, well designed, big enough, We stayed in 'Waterfall' with two persons. The kitchen is well equiped with a good dishwasher, microwave, cooker, kettle, fridge. You receive a code to get into the hotel and into your room, so there is no one at the reception. In your fridge you find a good product range (reindeer salami, salmon, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, ...) for breakfast. If you like to meet other people this is not the place to stay, but otherwise, it 's perfect.
