Located directly on the banks of the Mekong River, Mama Leuah offers clean and simple bungalows with ensuite, balcony and hammocks - perfect for enjoying the amazing sunrises! You can also relax in the restaurant while enjoying excellent asian and western dishes, great coffee, fresh fruit shakes or a tasty cocktail. If you're lucky, you might even get to witness a breathtaking moonrise!
Great place to stay. Very friendly (German) host and Laotian family. Everyone has a smile for you when passing by. The double bungalows are with shared bathroom. Everything is clean, the beds are comfortable and you have a moskito net and a fan. Infront of your bungalow you have a nice little veranda with two hammocks - best place to hang out all day long. Mama Leuah GH is really good located, because it's not in a row with lots of other guesthouses like in some other parts of Don Det and it's close to the old French Bridge where you can easily access Don Khone or watch the sunset. If you arrive from Nakasang you can walk the 2km to the guesthouse or you can take a tuk tuk or already rent a bike. Everything is available here: tour and bus or boat booking, renting bicycle, getting good advice and good food. I highly recommend.

Riverside bungalows, with hammocks and amazing view, surrounded by nature in the middle of the country side, a good place for relaxing and a great chance to experience the Real Laos by watching or participating to daily life and local customs;Enjoying typical atmosphere products(even homemade coffee and natural tobacco);Tasting organic food from the farms;Exploring the jungle and the area around.
I stayed for 2 nights on my way from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng and had the most relaxing and refreshing few days. The food was good, the scenery is gorgeous, the other guests were very nice, and Mike and Tao were very welcoming, accommodating, and fun to talk to. Mike picked me u from the intersection where I was dropped off. I was able to relax after weeks of intense traveling and on the third day we went and learned how to plant rice in the fields with the locals. I would strongly recommend spending at least a few days at Tao Guesthouse!

Stayed in a riverview bungalow (the farthest one to the right) for 70,000 during low season. The WIFI did not reach, but that is something they warned me of before booking. The bungalow was much cleaner than I was hoping.. only a few critters in the bathroom at night. Western toilet. Okay water pressure. Exceptional view from the balcony hammock! I'd recommend staying here when in Nong Khiaw.

A eviter

We stayed only 2 nights unfortunately, but Mai and Tai (owners) were very welcoming and helpful. The bungalows are basic, however there are 2 hammocks on each porch and a fan/mosquito net over the bed. Lovely sunsets, try their vegetable curry!

We stumbled across this guesthouse as the one we wanted was full, but I'm very glad we ended up here! This place is very new so don't be put off by the lack of reviews. Everything is very clean and tidy, and rooms are surprisingly big! It's a two minute walk from the tour operators and restaurants. The owner is friendly and also provides a very good laundry service - very handy after trekking! If you just turn up and don't book, it's 100kip for a double room. Only one star missing as the mattress was very hard, which seemed to be a common thing in Laos. We would stay here again for sure!
