First I'll start by saying that we've been going to Shelly's for Ice Cream Shakes long before they opened the Ice Cream window next to the restaurant.
Second - Since it's mostly the Shelly Family who work here, they have learned the family work ethic: Polite, Friendly, Great Service, and Pride in their work.
Third - it's just about the ONLY Ice Place that doesn't rip you off when you ask for Hand Packed by the Pint or Quart. These people know how to pack Ice Cream. NO giant air bubbles, no NOT pushing down. When you buy a quart you GET a quart. (Not like another place further up the road next to Dunkin Donuts. They NEVER filled their quarts and never had friendly workers.)
Shelly's Ice Cream Stand has a wide selection of flavors and many choices of how to enjoy them. ie: Sugar Cone, Wafer Cone, Waffle Cone, cup: sm, med. lg - Walnuts, Wet Walnuts, Jimmies, etc.
NOTE: They have a couple of picnic benches behind the stand and a hand washing station in front. No sense holding a cone with dirty hands.
NOTE: In the off-season the stand is closed BUT go right inside for fresh ice cream - - - it's right there for you, so why not?

The staff are the rudest people ever. I keep saying this is the last time. But the food is really good. So I come again and just deal with it.

We decided it was time to open an "American Fusion" restaurant in the area. WWth the finest, most fresh food available for our deserving customers. Offering a Family friendly atmosphere with scenic views, full service restaurant dine in, take out, and delivery at reasonable prices for all to enjoy!
I haven't been back since this was Bid and Norms so I gave it a try in August. Took the family here because the kids came here when the were younger. At first I though the service was slow with the new owners but found out why. The food was really well prepared the fries are homemade and the hamburgers were excellent put on artisan rolls. Great value for the money and will be back to try other more adventurous items on the menu.

At the Bongo Road House we pay homage to the American Road Trip with regionally inspired dishes from our travels coast to coast. Enjoy fresh seafood, po' boys, enchiladas, bbq & steaks. We have a full bar with craft & domestic beers and a variety of spirits including those distilled right here in Pennsylvania. Happy Hour every day from 5-7.
This place is amazing ! Tried it in the summer and ordered a burger platter to be safe and was impressed with the quality of the meat, bun and fries. Everybody else's meal was also impressive for ordinary entrées they ordered. Came back in September and I'll be honest I pulled in the lot and pulled out but then realizing my options in the area returned and ordered dinner. I have to say this was one of the best meals I ever had at the restaurant. The Oktoberfest menu was amazing. you could tell the dinner was made by a chef who cares about his food. Everything from the mustard dressing to the Apple bread pudding was home made and you could tell. Reasonably priced especially for the size and quality of ingredients. I appreciate that the beer offering was extensive and also reasonable ( $4 for a 23oz yuengling ) . The service was attentive and fast. I will definitely be returning and looking forward to it. Do yourself a favor give this gem a chance you wont be sorry, And no I do not know the owner or have any interest in this restaurant just appreciate this place because there aren't a lot of restaurants of this caliber in the area.

Great ending or a destination for a ride thru the poconos. Delicious soft swirl and hand dipped cones & sundaes. Offers some hot food items, too. Area with picnic tables on site.

Over the weekend my husband and I visited this fantastic German restaurant in the Poconos. It's part antique shop, part BBQ shack, but also has a sit-down restaurant inside with a wider variety of foods, mostly focusing on traditional German cuisine. Everything is homemade and the German hostess/owner (who also cooked some of the food) was very accommodating.
Fresh German food, like you are in Deutschland! This place is a small family owned and operated, it only has a few tables and meals are prepared completely fresh. It's a must to have a reservation.
The restaurant is inside their Antique Store, with a BnB upstairs! It's like sitting at dinner in your great-grandmothers house, very warm and inviting!

Cheesesteaks are fantastic. By far the best cheesesteak I have ever had. I ordered the flying cow which is chicken and steak mixed. Bartender Colleen made the sandwich and it was awesome. Great prices, good service and nice local bar atmosphere. Grab a sandwich when you are hanging out at the lake.

Dad ordered the Roast Beef Senior Dinner with a Side of Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and another side of Cottage Cheese, he was very happy with his meal. For dessert he had the pumpkin pie slice with whipped cream.
I had the Southern Fried Steaks with Pepper Gravy and a side of French Fries and Corn.
We both enjoyed multiple cups of the bottomless coffee and had great service from the new waitress. The place was clean and the food excellent. I am so happy they are keeping the menu the same because our favorites are all there and the service cannot be beaten. Thanks for a continued tradition of excellence.
