This restaurant is a very popular lunch spot with locals in Abidjan. It serves the usual ivoiran dishes like kedgenou but is particularly renown for the grilled fish, poisson braise. A smallish but very fresh menu. It is also very reasonably priced. A place i have been back to many times.

If you want a maquis with lovely fish and in the middle of the buzzing Treichville district it does not get better than .It is very well known and popular and you might need to wait to get seated. If you come early you will have to wait a looong time before the kitchen get going later in the night its very fast service.
The Restaurant Le Pavillon proposes a cuisine inspired by traditional African flavors revisited Sofitel! On the menu you can find some unmissable African dishes such as: Garba by Sofitel, Whole braised chicken marinated in Ivory Coast or La Queue de BÅuf
The Pavillon is a nice location; the outside terrace of the Ivoire hotel gives a great view over the lagoon.Food is good overall, though not extraordinary. Staff friendly (though sometimes rather chat among themselves, you may need some time to get their attention).

I was impressed with the beautiful interior of the restaurant, and the traditional fare on offer. The menus were all hand-drawn, giving it a very local flavor. The dishes on order were all variations of typical Ivoirian villages dishes with different meats. For instance, you could get the kedjenou sauce, which is a delightful tomato based sauce with chicken or mutton or fish or agouti (a local, wild bushrat). It arrives in a traditional clay bowl with your choice of yam fries, or rice, or sweet potatos. So you can put your meal together yourself. The wait staff was discreet and helpful and, although we were the first to arrive, the place filled up quite nicely as the night continued. Overall a delightful experience, and a reasonable price for traditional local fare done right.

The restaurant was recommended by a colleague who is familiar with Abidjan. It has a relaxed atmosphere and is very spacious. There were meat and fish dishes and typical Ivorian side dishes. Service was friendly and courteous. The reason I am giving the restaurant an average rating is that the two subsequent meals I had in other restaurants were simply better.

I found this Restaurant & Bar by chance, and it is a very popular meeting place for the english speaking expatriate community. Hidden up a narrow alley, it offers a high level of security and discretion.
Perhaps this place suits people who are more keen on drinking culture? It is very hidden from the road, you walk up a track to the parking area.Garden is overgrown and untended. A few tatty tables. This place had a strange atmosphere. Seemed like some 'odd' couples there to me.TV blasting out. Expensive drinks, we had terrible cocktails with fake juice. Not very clean. Shame, because I had high hopes for this after reading recommendations.

My business dinner here was a success overall. I enjoyed the artistic environment and appreciated the thought and care that had gone into the interior design and decor. The service was above average and attentive, the menu had a good choice of interesting dishes. We choose fish and seafood dishes and were a little disappointed to find that they were slightly overdone. It was not a big problem for us as the mistake was relatively minor but it made me wonder whether the obvious eye for quality in so many aspects of this restaurant has not yet quite reached the kitchen.

The food here is average but views are great.Food was expensive and tasteless. Mainly braai-ed (barbecue) meat ad fish. Their yam balls are just normal yams, nothing special. I enjoyed their cassava rice kinda thing. Their Sole fish can feed 3/4 ppl so dont fall for them if they say it feeds one. Drinks are expensive. They take dollars ask their exchange rate first before you order. I would not advise paying in dollars, but they dont have card points. but the views are lovely.

We went for fried chicken and fish and had a n excellent meal, served well and quickly, with good chips and plenty of beer. It's a good and very big Maquis that manages to avoid being chaotic but is informal and relaxed while giving the impression of efficiency on the cooking side

Saakan is the second restaurant in Abidjan of young restaurateur couple, Christelle Vougo and Frank Anet (also owners of restaurants Norima, Mondial and the catering business : Zanda Traiteur). At Saakan, you will discover or rediscover a modern African C
The place is in Plateau, one of the richest neighborood in town. Food specialities are seafood and fish, reason why I decided to have a mixed grilled seafood plate, which in the end was really nice and enriched with side spices and appetizers. It was tuesday and there was a traditional music trio playing local instruments. The ambient is elegant but welcoming.Thank you for such a nice feedback. We are glad that you had such a nice experience in our restaurant. We are looking forward to welcoming you again.
