During a recent trip to visit relatives in Lachute we came across L'Infusion which is not inviting from standing outside this restaurant. When we entered the dining area is nice with basic tables and outside dining which we ate on our first visit. The food was very good with a large selection of tasty sandwiches and specials that included a chicken pesto pasta dish. The dessert was excellent along with a nice cafe late. This place was a hit with my children who asked to return a couple days later for breakfast. The restaurant is very clean with friendly staff. They didn't have a menu in English but that was ok since our waitress spoke English and was very helpful. Overall I highly recommend this Cafe for great food, nice atmosphere and nice staff.

This is just a notch above a greasy spoon. They serve pasta. Friendly ambiance, but average food.

I have breakfest here often with my boyfriend, we like it a lot. One thing that bothers us is the toast should come on a different plate with the fruit if you order eggs.. And as for the bacon, it should be regular and not microwavable

The cottage country around here was once dominated by Scots who pined for Dunany back home, and this restaurant started as Greek eatery back in the climax of those days. You can see the Greek origins of the place in a few of he offerings.
The main dishes that are advertised as prepared in-house (the others presumably from one of the multinational corporations that control food service and do everything but pop the item in a microwave). I had the manicotti, which was good, but could have had a bit more kick in the tomato sauce.
Service was good.
I argue in my e-book on food and city building that family restaurants in places like this can and should play an important role -- building the identity and reputation of the town, doing more cooking from scratch to increase local jobs, offering more foods that promote nutrition (ie pasta dishes that offer an option of whole grain or whole wheat pasta). The town council should support places to do something special and save the town from being dominated by cookie cutter multinational junk take-outs.
So i want to leave a note of encouragement to places like this, as much for their potential as for what they offer now.

This is a fairly new bakery east of Lachute on Hwy 158 just before the 329 turns north towards Morin Heights.
There is a wonderful and varied selection of breads and pastries. Very very good croissants. Later in the day they can be sold out as more and more people discover this place. Normally we just pick up some bread but the other day it was around lunch time and my husband wanted a Sandwich, chosing a ham one. This was no ordinary ham Sandwich! but one of those divine exotic concoctions with such fresh lettuce, fresh basil, red pepper paste, melted cheese on a warm ciabatta (did I forget the ham part!). It was huge so fortunately he shared some of it with me! It was to die for!
Bravo au boulanger et ses employés! J'espère que ce petit commerce aura beaucoup de succès et puisse continuer a fournir un service hors paire!

This was a beautiful location. The dining room was well set up despite it being a humid day. Unfortunately all the food, spit roasted chicken, pork loin and leg of lamb was unseasoned and the chicken undercooked. There was one "brown sauce" for everything. Hence I found the meats not worth eating. I tried to add salt but the salt shaker was empty!. The ratatouille was good. Service was attentive. Even the hors d'oeuvres were not well seasoned. Even though we were supposed to have lunch, it came late as the meats were not quite ready.

An interesting option in Lachute. Meal offerings change daily and include soup, main course and varied salad choices. Nice small homey local resto attached to small interesting gift shop. Espresso was surprisingly good, as well as desserts.

Ended up at the Caucus to enjoy dinner and drinks on the patio. Great location on the main drag in Lachute (rue Principale). Service was ok, the place was packed, server nice and friendly. Sangria was delicious! Food just ok. Not much to choose on the menu. Lots of fast food items. We ordered chicken nachos and brie bruchetta to share. Nachos aren't very big and not much on them, a tad dissappointed! Bruchetta is a must try.

This was my second experience with going for dinner at a Cabane a Sucre, and it was lovely. When we arrived there was lots of parking, and it was beautiful with snow covered trees. There was a pathway in the woods, and a barn of animals to go visit too, while we waited for the dinner to start. When the dining area was opened up to us, it had been set with lovely China and tablecloths and settings, and little name cards at the table. Service as slow, so I don't think this would be great with kids or impatient people, it is designed to be a long enjoyable and very filling meal. There was a LOT of food, and it was all quite good. Portions were overly generous. The egg soufle is the best egg dish I have ever had in my life. I didn't think it was possible to make eggs taste that good. The sausages were also amazingly good. Service was very warm and friendly and very personalized. We did not have to share our dishes with other groups, so I felt the hygiene was better than with some other Cabane a sucre's. I really liked the intimate feeling of this place, not too many people, good quality food, nice table cloths and dishes, and a friendly and warm environment.
