Laborie is a village on the south coast of Saint Lucia. It was originally called l'Islet a Caret after the Loggerhead sea turtles that were found in the area. The name Laborie is named after Baron de Laborie who was the French governor of Saint Lucia from 1784–1789. At that time the village had a population of 712.

Martha’s is a small, clean, welcoming daytime meal stop. Well worth the 5 minute drive off the highway out of Soufriere south. Martha herself came out to see that we were enjoying our lunch. We both had the spicy creole mahi mahi which came with a variety of traditional West Indies sides. Everything was hot, delicious and fresh. It was far better than any of the “authentic Caribbean” fare at the resort restaurants we sampled during our week in the area. Very reasonable price for good sized portions plus friendly prompt service. As an added bonus you can, inside of 5 minutes, go down the road to Malgretoute beach which was nice and quite secluded - although I expect once the massive resort they are building there is open you won’t get that part of the experience anymore.

Arguably the best food you could eat on St. Lucia. You can feast on delicious grilled fish with rice and root vegetables. This is authentic St. Lucian cuisine. You get a generous portion of food for an unbeatable price and it's all absolutely delicious.

We read so many good things about Jade Mountain Resort before going to St. Lucia and decided to go there for lunch. We called the same day and there was no problem at all getting a table. We drove there in our rental car (a small 4x4), and although the road was was quite bumpy and steep we had no problem getting to Chaste Ansanet Resort where they called for a pickup car to drive us up to Jade Mountain (they do this for free and will not let you drive there on your own). Remember to make a reservation through Jade Mountain Resort before you get there, or else they might not drive you there.
The view when you get there is absolutely breathtaking and is worth the trip alone.
We were met by a very polite staff who made us feel very welcome. They offered to take pictures of us before we were taken to our table. We got there at 1200 on a Sunday and on arrival we were the only ones at the restaurant, so we were able to choose the table with the greatest view over the pitons. However, you will get a great view wherever you sit.
Our waiter (I believe his name was Lawrenson) offered great service. The lunch has an a la carte menu with a great variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian options. The drink menu is also very good. We ordered two main courses, one drink, a large bottle of water and Deserts for both of us. We also got a complimentary nonalcoholic drink as one of us was driving. The food was the best we had while staying on the island (and St. Lucia has very good food), and after the main course and desert we were both very full. We ended up paying about 70 USD which really isn't a bad price considering the quality and amount of food, especially not on St. Lucia where the prices tend to be quite high.
If you´re gluten free this really is the best place to go to. They were able to make every meal on the menu gluten free, and they even offered gluten free bread which was really tasty and not dry at all (for everyone eating gluten free you probably know it´s rare to have a non-dry gluten free bread at a restaurant).
After lunch we went up to the sun roof and could stay there for as long as desired. We had the whole sun roof to ourselves and it was really amazing. We would recommend having lunch opposed to dinner because of the beautiful Panorama view. This also gives you the opportunity to go Anse Chastanet beach after lunch (the beach is right next to the guest parking on Anse Chastanet), which is highly recommended on a sunny day.

The restaurant is already discussed in your forums. I just can't find a listing for it so that I can review it. I don't know the street number (not much on the internet about it), but it is on West Coast Rd, Soufriere, St. Lucia. It was very clean and well decorated. The view of the Pitons and the food were both excellent. It is on the West Coast Rd north of Soufriere.
The views were amazing and the food was delicious. It was a buffet and was lovely. Some folks have complained about the price but ours was included in the cost of our tour so I don't know how much it was but probably well worth it for the incredible views of the Pitons.

I hate leaving poor reviews.... This was a gong show.... They were out of nearly everything. There were lots of staff on, but they so disorganized. It took forever to get our food after having to change our order a few times. Finally had to ask them to please get it now.
When the food came it was good, the staff were nice, but they really need to improve their situation.

Sailing St Lucia and Martinique, we stopped off in Laborie and headed for Mama Tilly's on TA recommendation. We were not disappointed, great welcome and fantastic lobster with salad, scalloped potatoes, bread fruit, all washed down with rum punch. Lovely to chat with Tilly and her daughter and get a glimpse of Caribbean life. Highly recommended

Staying in Laborie thought we would visit only to find apart from the building nothing like previously described. It is now just a typical local beach bar with definitely no frills and no food currently. Upon enquiry found that previous owners left some weeks ago and its now called The Coco Bar. Still a nice spot with good music and 3 Pitons for 10 EC. Might get better and sorry to have missed the fine food etc in photos. Doubt if it will be the same as before though

Come relax at Salt Rush Café, located on the Laborie waterfront, behind Ms. Rose Bakery. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, coffee, smoothies and cocktails. Our unique combination of services includes kayak tours and outdoor and studio photography.
The perfect spot for a casual lunch or cocktail at sundown when you've come in from the beach. Wilson's quiet and peaceful cafe overlooks the bay of Laborie and given it's a little fishing village, the fish is fresh and delicious and the beer cold. What more could one want!

The menu is short because it relies on what local fresh food they have. Tonight we had conch and Blue Marlin with fried plantain and salad, we had two drinks each and the bill was EC$82. Incredible value
