Our Catalan driver suggested this place to us saying that it was his grandma's preferred choice. We were glad we went along with grandma's suggestion. Altho' the restaurant did not have an English menu, we were served by merry Martha who spoke good English and recommended authentic Catalan dishes for us to try. Apart from the raw cod, we enjoyed every other dish that was brought out. A very pleasant experience in a cosy restaurant. The fact that the restaurant was filled up with locals during luch time spoke volumes about its authenticity.

Tapies is the signature Restaurant of El Castell and since its opening has been a reference in the region; it has welcomed at its tables both national and international celebrities, always with a heart-felt cuisine. Nowadays its flames are under Chef Salvador Trabalon’s command; his creations are phocused in the product itself, 60% out of which comes from this region. He has created a short and varied menu to please everybody’s palates.

Wednesdays to Fridays: from 20:00 to 22:30.
Saturdays and sundays: from 13:00 to 15:30 and from 20:00 to 22:30.
Mondays and tuesdays: closed

Restaurant Tapies will be closed from october 29, 2017 till march 23, 2018, except from december 22, 2017 till january 7, 2018 on which will be open for the holidays.
We had the Urgellet menu with 3 courses plus appetizer and sweet.
The food was very tasty and well prepared. One little thing was unsatisfying - the rice to the squids, was dry and seemed cooked long time ago.
Service is very good and wine selection is great.

This is a first floor non-smoking restaurant hidden away in a little street east of the C/Major in the ancient, sleepy Pyrenean town of La Seu d'Urgell. We were there off season (November) when it only opened for lunches (10 euro Menu) and weekend evenings. Serves good, simple, home-cooked Catalan food with style and friendliness, not to mention some excellent wines from the Segre Valley area. We went twice, and the second time was even better. Superb. May need to book.

This was the best meal I had on my recent trip to Spain.
This is worth an overnight in La Seu. Everything we ordered was EXCELLENT. I do not use this word lightly. By happy accident (the very sweet waitress did not speak English and our Catalan is, well, pathetic), we ended up with the beef fillet, ordered medium, but came out purple in hue with the texture of a medium cook. It was heaven. We started with a smoked salmon (not too salty OR fishy) salad, then had an amazing crepe (with egg, Iberico, and Gruyere), then a risotto (also delicious), then split the beef fillet and a duck breast (heaven). Everything was so good we each ordered dessert as well. A chocolate fondant (OMG), tarte tatin (hubby's favorite), and a souffle. The wine list is very agreeable.
Go here, these are artists at their craft, and, sadly, we and one other group were it for the night.

Charming little restaurant, many mountain dishes and fresh seafood. It stresses the seasonal cuisine with dishes typical of the surrounding mushrooms and game. It is one of the few restaurants around that serve seafood and fresh fish. Call to book before you go because the place has few places.
We spent a while marching up and down the main street, looking at the unappetizing pizza parlors. Only some way off we found Les Tres Portes, a small (smaller inside than it looks outside!) village restaurant, with excellent dishes and some great Duero wines on the list. The portions are huge, service very friendly and all in all it was a great experience to find a place like that in Seu D'Urgell.

Pktus Restaurant, a place of small earthly pleasures! FUN FOOD SHARE These three words define the philosophy of our establishment. The food is the key element in our scheme. Fundamentals consumption close cover ourselves with quality products made by artisans and farmers of our land ... the Pyrenees. The food and wine are the ways to make your "sin" and enjoy the excellence of all. But when it makes sense when the good food, good wine and feelings, in short, the good times can be shared.
This is a fabulous experience. The food is fantastic, the service excellent and the atmosphere delightful. The owner is obviuosly passionate about food and he shares this in his menu and wine list. We loved it and would certainly visit again. Do experience this lovely restaurant.

Tapas dinner that hit all the right notes. Great dishes of Iberico, carpaccio, croquetas, salad, veggies and mojito sorbet!! We drank a lively cava and a tasty tempranillo. Restaurant staff and owner were lovely people and the food was definitely prepared with love.

Restaurant with their own name: Alt Urgell. In the restaurant of the Parador ‘Alt Urgell’, which has direct access form both the street and the hotel itself, guests and non-guests alike can taste the delicacies and flavours of these Leridian lands. Examples include the terrine de foie in homemade escabeche, escudella barrejada (local style), pig’s trotters stuffed with mushrooms and rosemary, jugged wild boar and a select variety of desserts to choose from our buffet.
This was a first visit to this restaurant. As others have said it does rather lack atmosphere whilst the rest of the hotel looks quite nice and well laid out. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was a little unusual. We went for the starter of different tastes - a sort of tapas really - a bit mixed. The main course was supposedly veal but it was rather dark in colour and certainly tough! The dessert was crème brûlée - can't go wrong with that.
As regards price for the quality it was okay. Very quiet for Sunday lunch I thought - perhaps it was just a bad day.
