Things to do in Haro
First place we tried in Haro. My wife ordered a glass of white wine, the glass contained at best 100ml of wine. This place and the waiter lacked any of the generosity and hospitality that we have experienced all over Spain on 3 previous trips to this wonderful country.

We both had Menu del dia. I had red bean, bacon and chorizo stew to start. It was delicious and a meal in itself. My wife had potatoe and chorizo. Again lovely, because I ate some of this too. Second I had steak and chips. Again, tasty. I had one of my wife's lamb chops which were very good. Flan, or better known to us as creme caramel, for afters. We also had a bottle of house Rioja. The bill was â¬24 and I can honestly say that I would eat there tomorrow if I was staying. Lovely attentive and friendly staff too. It was really nice sitting in the sun enjoying a lovely meal here.
Mi primer vino y pincho en Haro, y era un jueves y habÃa pinchopote, un rioja joven, y un pimiento relleno de bacalao, por 1,5 e. Los dueños muy amables.

Great ponchos including some amazing locally produced cheeses. And of course, a brilliant wine selection.

Comida de urgencia última hora. Nos nutrimos de tapas y pinchos. Todo correcto y el trato muy amable. Otro dÃa, volveremos con más calma para degustar mas cosas.

My wife and I shared a skewer of grilled meat, a large order of grilled mushrooms and a couple glasses of crianza. The staff working the counter and the grill were attentive and careful in their preparations. Nothing too fancy, but simple excellent quality.Since part of the fun is to sample the tastes and variety of many different places, this is a restaurant that should definitely be one of your stops.

Food was great (but so is every other pincho bar in Haro). This is the only time I've ever been treated rudely in Spain. I really got the feeling they didn't want me there, especially the tall bald bartender. I ordered politely -in Spanish- and made way for other people at the bar to order. They had no problem charging me right away (unlike most places, or any other person in the bar) but then would not serve me the food I ordered. I tried to ask several times (after more than 30 minutes patiently waiting while 10 to 15 locals who came in after me were served) but the bartender wouldn't even acknowledge me, seriously wouldn't even make eye contact. I am not the typical "Ugly American" tourist, honest, and this really saddened me.
