Renovated 18th century old house in the middle of a garden and a park with a heated swimming pool in summer. Le Loire river is close to the house ; Angers is 20 minutes ride by car; Two large bedrooms with queen size beds welcome you and are totally independant. If you like cycling, this is the place to come to, you will enjoy the particular light of the place and quietly relax.Paris is 3 hours drive and 1hour30 by train.
Ker Dame Marie is tranquil, the room was clean, the bed extremely comfortable. The shower was fine, the breakfast good, yet it didn't quite tick all the boxes for me. There is a lovely dining room and sitting room, but populated by the family cat. Which for me rules out sitting in the sitting room. Its not the present of the cat, its the dust left behind from the fur. Then the bedroom is not en suite. I hadn't asked that question (not the cat question) so can't complain. The bedroom was also at the top of a narrow flight of stairs on the second floor, We were fine but not good if stairs are a difficulty. The wifi was good in the bedroom although a thunderstorm knocked out all internet one day. The phone signal is 4G though so when I needed the internet I could use my phone's hotspot. Within the bedroom the whitewash on the beams was flaking and one window didn't open. Although the pool looks lovely there is no path to get to it and the grass was very long. So not good walking through it after rain. The village is on a local train line with infrequent services into Angers - only ten minutes away. But getting around by dar is a bit slow. Remy and Beatrice are lovely and very welcoming. The advice we received was really helpful. The gardens are beautiful and the house has a long history - but maybe a bit of updating needed.

A hymn to peace, permanence and gentle living. The superb garden is Monsieur's pride and joy; château-like reception rooms open one into another - glass doors to glass doors, billiards to dining to sitting - like an indoor arcade; family portraits follow you everywhere. But it's never over-grand. Bedrooms are highly individual with their antiques and hand-painted armoires (courtesy of an artistic sister), many bathrooms are new and Madame is the most delightful smiling hostess and a fine cook (veg, meat and eggs all home-grown). Your lovely hosts join you for an aperitif before dinner.
This is a lovely place, full of character, with perfect hosts. Madame is a wonderful cook in the tradtional French style - the 30 euro dinner (including aperitif and good local wine) is a terrific bargain. We stayed just one night but wished we could have stayed longer

Welcome to Loge & Broc, a countryside Bed and Breakfast in Anjou with Evening Meals and a small antique shop. Situated in the second floor of a mansion of the late 18th century and near the touristic tour of the Loire on bicycle ("Loire a Velo")
