Find out what Italian restaurants to try in La Paz. Sitting in a valley in the Andes Mountains, La Paz is the city that touches the clouds. The de facto capital of Bolivia, and sitting between 3300 and 4100 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Rich with 19th century churches, museums of artifacts from the pre-Conquest era, precarious overlooks, and colorful markets, La Paz is truly unique. The Witches’ Market, in the center of the city, sells charms and potions for Aymara rituals, as well as souvenirs.

This is a countryside restaurant that produces a variety of fresh and ripened cheeses. In it's menu you can find different types of fondue, raclettes, pizzas, cheese platters, salads and desserts, as well as a selections of gourmet artisanal beers and bol
The Flor de Leche cheese factory, located just outside the city of La Paz, Bolivia, in the village of Achocalla, produces some of the country's finest gourmet cheeses. We were told that the owner is from Holland (a pair of wooden shoes decorates a wall). It has a small, rustic restaurant that showcases its artisan cheeses. We went on a recent Saturday afternoon and sat at an outdoor table. We were simply blown away by the amazingly delicious fondue, made with four different fine cheeses and a Bolivian white wine. The fondue is served with a bit of an Andean twist: instead of French bread cubes to dip in the cheese sauce, pieces of simple La Paz "marraqueta" rolls; also some tender baby purple potatoes to dip in the sauce. A lovely salad with a delicate dressing (I think it is called "petersalsa", if I recall correctly). Service by our two waiters was impeccable; they were gracious, well trained, and very knowledgeable. We will definitely return to try the pizza. Worth driving outside the city to find this culinary gem!

Food is top notch and so is the service. The decoration makes you feel as though in a village in Italy, given that the tables and the overall setup are quite rustic (and cozy!).

Now in Jupapina, the most beautiful area of La Paz City, Italian cuisine of the highest quality in an exclusive and private atmosphere. If you want a rustic pizza made in a wood oven and homemade pasta. You need to call us to book.
Il Portico is a small family owned restaurant. It's a bit far from everything else, you have to take a taxi (or go by car), no public transportation takes you there, but it's only a 15 minute drive from San Miguel and you'll find it's worth it. Marcello (the owner) is always there. You can choose from various pizzas and different pastas (we love the agnolotti) with many different sauces as well. Everything is always fresh and delicious! And very cheap!

Normally i am not a big fan of pizzas. But they had a friday special all pizzas for 35 Bolivianos. Could not go wrong with that. Took the fish one, very good, thin and tasty, lots of shrimps. Great job.

Been here on business for 10 days. Tried lots of restaurants, including 3 Italian restaurants. They were good, but nothing to remember. But once stopping here, this place was wonderful! loved the pasta dishes (cannaloni), salads, desserts. Has charm and intimacy, and neighborhood feel. I'd go back everynight for a week. Maybe two weeks. Maybe just move in permanently. We LOVE your review! Thank you very very much! We hope to see you again when you visit La Paz!SaludosGabriela!

Visited on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was very quiet. Nicely decorated with numerous Fellini film posters. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had salad starters which were excellent. We both opted for pizzas and they were also excellent- best I had on my trip to South America. Thin with a fresh tomato sauce. I would definitely eat here again. Dear HappyGilmore1969Thank you very much for your kind comment, we are really glad to read you had a great time over here. We hope you can visit us again soon when you come to La Paz.Kind Regards.

Very tasteful pizzas in a comforting environment! The large size is finally really large and worked as a good lunch for me and my girlfriend. Prices are also fair (from 70 bs for a large margarita).Ne prepared to wait a while though. Takeaway is also possible!

We were looked after by Raphael on our night. We looked for a nice but tasty dish of pasta and found it. Kitchen is visible and clean, pasta is firm and fresh.
