Reviews on Indian food in La Paz, La Paz Department, Bolivia. Sitting in a valley in the Andes Mountains, La Paz is the city that touches the clouds. The de facto capital of Bolivia, and sitting between 3300 and 4100 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Rich with 19th century churches, museums of artifacts from the pre-Conquest era, precarious overlooks, and colorful markets, La Paz is truly unique. The Witches’ Market, in the center of the city, sells charms and potions for Aymara rituals, as well as souvenirs.

Delhi ciuos Indian food in the center of La Paz. Enjoy a unique dining experience at Delhi Curry Lounge with delicious food from our menu of authentic Indian dishes. Our Indian menu includes typical Indian beverages, snacks, curry specialties, tandoor and
I rarely write negative reviews of restaurants, because any establishment can have an off night: it seems harsh and even unfair to criticize a business for one dish, one interaction, etc. However, since virtually every aspect of my experience at Delhi Curry Lounge was poor, I will break my typical rule.Delhi Curry Lounge is located in the third floor of a run-down building slightly off La Paz's tourism strip. They've attempted to apply a veneer of wood and brick to the concrete but it's not helping much. The building is uninviting, which wouldn't matter much if everything else was fantastic, but unfortunately seems of a pattern. The food was mediocre at best, and I say that as someone who goes to Indian restaurants in virtually every city he travels to. I'm not expecting London or Mumbai -- but this was worse than I'd expect in Little Rock. Even Chicken Tikka Masala, pretty much an un-screw-up-able dish, was weak and not very flavorful. The cucumber raita was the only thing we ordered that didn't disappoint. And speaking of ordering, the service was very poor. Though not ill-intentioned, our waiter was borderline incompetent. We ordered llama korma and got llama vindaloo, ordered garlic naan and got plain naan, ordered cucumber raita and didn't get it until we ordered again. Then we were charged for a mango lassi on our bill that the adjacent table had ordered. I can't remember the last time that we had such problems with a meal.In summary, this was a run-down establishment with bad food and poor service. I don't mean them any ill will, but since the restaurant is highly reviewed on Tripadvisor, I would like to serve as a counterpoint. Even if you're craving some curry: stay away.
