The Lighthouse has a very nice atmosphere, with comfortable seating and ambient lighting. The waiter was very friendly and actually spoke English, which is a rarity in Huanchaco. The tropical chicken was very good as was the surf and turf, both dishes were grilled.

If you come to Peru I invite you to visit Mococho Restaurant at Huanchaco, Trujillo, La Libertad; our especialty: fresh steamed fish, covered with a variety of delicious sauces, a different, healthy and tasty option.
The restaurant was just about the close but the chef very kindly let us sit down. There are only 2 things on the menu - ceviche and steamed fish with a sauce and rice - both are designed to be shared. The ceviche was amazing - the best we have had in South America; hearty chunks of fish in a delicious and slightly spicy sauce. We opted for the pecan sauce with our fish and it was absolutely delicious - it literally melted in your mouth. The food is the definition of fresh ingredients, simply prepared to make an outstanding meal. Perhaps more expensive than you would pay in the rest of the town but in our opinion completely and utterly worth it. Do not miss a visit. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our food Phoebe, thank you for sharing your opinion with the travelers community!
Everything here that I have tried is really great. The ceviche, calamari, lomo saltado, pisco sours, causa - all excellent. But the tiraditos (thinly sliced fish ceviche) is especially worth getting! Still thinking about it months later... The outdoor seating is really comfortable and you are right on the beach. Amazing place for a nice leisurely lunch!

Small place, but with very fresh sushi made on the spot and with a lot of care. It might take more time than in other places to get the food but definitely worth it :) it was really really good and very friendly staff!
Meri Cafe-Bar is a surf-oriented restaurant located in the best spot in Huanchaco. We offer all-day breakfast, lunch, hot and cold drinks, cocktails, and much more. We have wifi for guests. In addition to our restaurant, we share our space with Yenth Ccor
As close as it gets to Mexican food you will get. You will need to ask for the chille as Peruvians do not like chille much ( including the country, donât mention the war!!!)
