Things to do in Santa Tecla
It was pouring cats and dogs at lunch when our Salvadoran relatives suggested we go for home made chicken (rooster) soup nearby. This little restaurant sits along a winding road to comasagua at km 2 1/2. Honk at the gate and a waitress will open up. There is ample parking. The rooster soup was really great and cheap. They also serve roast chicken which we enjoyed in this unpretentious local restaurant.

The place is located in the top roof of a big house where you can enjoy different steak cuts and chorizos with a good flavor at a good price, is a trendy after office restaurant.

Went to this place for lunch with my associates from Guatemala. We tried several dishes and all of them were great! We were kindly serviced by the Manager, but all service staff is friendly. Food was simply awesome and the place was very nice decorated. They have their own parking lot. Widely recommended and a must while in San Salvador.

A friend and I had dinner with other friends at Lima Limón about 3 weeks ago. The Paseo El Carmen in Santa Tecla has been resurrected as a tourist destination with restaurants, bars and a few shops. It's fun to stroll along the street and see the people and the sights, including the beautiful cathedral. Lima Limón, like most of the restaurants, is small and intimate with indoor and outdoor dining space. We both had the steak with balsamic reduction sauce and agreed it was the best steak either of us has had in El Salvador (between us we have been there about 36 times). It was served with delicious tomatoes and potato salad. The Bananas Foster that Juan, the owner and chef, made us as a special dessert was well worth the calories! The margaritas were great, and there's a good assortments of beers. Other friends with us had dinners they said were very good as well. Lima Limón is definitely worth a visit!

My girlfriend and I were walking along Paseo de Carmen and as Las Camelias Lounge was the first restaurant we came by we decided to keep on walking in order to check the other options. Apparently the other restaurants were either closed or did not seem as nice as this one so we came back and had a very good lunch.
