At the end of our holiday we tried this place-recommended by others and I notice most reviews are in Spanish as this is off the beaten track in a quaint town called El Torron. It is a Spanish speaking restauant but the manager couldn't have tried harder to please us-and one waiter struggled with his English as we struggled with our Spanish and somehow it all came together. A lovely meal-reasonably priced in spite of some saying it is dear-you can eat well here at a reasonable price and the house wine is only 11 euro a bottle and very nice! I recommend any of the pork dishes-my husband wasn't all that impressed with his steak. The starters were unusual and very tasty. A highlight for us of the holiday!

We have been visiting Islantilla for over ten years now and always make a point of eating at this restaurant once during our visit. I have previously written a review so this is something of an update.
It is in a great location looking out over the Islantilla beach Promenade with views of the sea. You can sit inside in the air conditioning or outside on the balcony.
The menu has not really changed at all and the quality of the food and service has remained high. It is a good place to eat fish, the lenguado [sole] is especially good, starters are also excellent to share particularly revuelto ,mojama and jamon. The wine list is pretty extensive but not too expensive. In all it has remained good quality in a centro commercial where restaurants come and go

Lines of people waiting for a table is not a common sight across this Spanish family holiday resort. There are very many outlets to sit in for a good supper or lunch.
La Yema de Oro serves some of the best pizza ever and so a long queue should not be a surprise. And you will see them most evenings.
Good fresh topping on delicious stone-baked bases - these masterpieces have to be the work of a true master in the kitchen.
Great canteen atmosphere with attentive and helpful waiting staff. Oh, and mouthwatering pizzas.....
They might consider a No Smoking rule - as might most of the rest of the Country - but otherwise this drop-in food spot is hard to beat.

Great tapas, we had a number of them. Spanish-style eating: outdoors, people-watching.
Heads-up: the fries that come with the skewered meat are soggy and drenched in the sauce, let them go. Also, we found the shrimp underdone.
That said, the ham and the cheese platter were phenomenal.
Another down-point was the fact that they're totally in scheme with the street sellers (contraband / contrafaction). If this bothers you, don't choose one of the outermost tables.
Staff is quick and efficient.
Would recommend.

As belgians we don't speak or understand Spanish but the guy in charge appointed a very kind customer to assist us with the choice of tapas and ordering.
We had excellent tuna in oil, soms tasty small fish and delicious choco, a type of squid. The food was excellent, the service very kind and personal and from the heart.
It is set at a lovely location with outdoor tables and views on the small Promenade, the lovely beach and the sea. Only a 15 min walk eastwards on the Islantilla Promenade from our hotel Puerto Antilla.
Pricing is more than fair.
Definitely recommended to give it a try!

I'm a New Yorker and I know good pizza and I was skeptical at first if a pizzeria in Spain was all that everybody told me about and it's More! I was blown away with the sauce, the freshness of the ingredients and the sheer mastery of the pizza makers. The owner is Italian hence the name but I've had pizza in Italy but nothing compared to the pizza here. Also the portions are generous and you will not leave there hungry I guarantee that. If your every in La Antilla run down walk here amazing food.

I went looking for this place due to a recommendation and its only negative is that its away from the beachfront Promenade and therefore quite quiet. My food was really good and the staff friendly even though only one person spoke English. I can recommend it

If you stop at La Antilla, make sure to visit this wonderful restaurant. The food is wonderful, a true delight and priced very decently. The service is incredibly warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming.
There are great food options for children and as a bonus, a play park directly opposite on the beach.
We went twice...which says a lot for us.
Highlights; ham, grilled prawns, squid ink rice, tuna wrapped in bacon, salt baked fish.
A must for a sundowner meal!
