Things to do in Yosano-cho
This is one of the oldest restaurants in this region. Specialized in typical Japanese dishes of all kinds â from sashimi (sliced raw fish), sushi, udon and soba noodle dishes to even gyoza and ramen. This restaurant probably doesnât expect any outsiders to drop by and their menu is not non-Japanese friendly. There are only one or two tables with chairs and the rests are all traditional Japanese tatami mat rooms without any pit for stretching legs. Uncomfortable.Foods offered are not spectacular by any means, but all okay. Pricing is relatively high for the place and the foods. However, they do a very good job in arranging very formal Japanese lunch or dinner for formal occasions. Service is readily available by the use of call-button system. For a large group, they have a separate tatami mat rooms for more formal Japanese lunch and dinner settings. This is with a prior booking only.
This is a casual drinking place in the Shimoyamada district of Yosano Town. Itâs not too far away from Kyoto Tango Railwayâs Yosano Station (formerly Nodagawa Station). I learned it is operated by a family which also runs a udon noodle manufacturing plant in the same complex. They have both a counter bar and semi-private booths that come with a pit, allowing you to stretch your legs. This is wonderful. They offer a wide range of foods that go well either beer, sake or rice spirit (shochu). As for fish foods, itâs worthwhile asking beforehand about the catch of the day. Do not expect anything fancy.Overall atmosphere is relatively old and tired. No menu is available in English and therefore it might be vital for non-Japanese speakers to go with some Japanese-speaking friends.

It is a small restaurant in the Ishikawa district of Yosano-cho Town. Unless you know its location very well, you just cannot get to this place without someone's help.Every table here is private. No open tables at all. Your table comes with a pit below, so you can stretch your legs and that is very good. You ring a bell (electronic) and your server will show up promptly for taking your orders. No English menus and I have no idea if they have anyone who understands it.Their menu is an interesting mix of Japanese, western and Asian. They all go very well with cold beer. (I've been to this restaurant only in the summer.)Drinking driving is strictly prohibited nowadays in Japan. So this restaurant offers a free shuttle service within the Yosano Town region. This is very good and I personally used this service every time in the past.
Most Popular Cafe food in Yosano-cho, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
This is a restaurant that occupies a small section within a very small strip mall along Highway 176 (west side) in the Ishikawa district of the town of Yosano.Their menu is a typical of low-end Japanese restaurants found everywhere in Japan. Udon noodles, soba noodles, bowl of rice with various toppings, and set lunch and dinner menus commonly with grilled or cooked fish. They also cover Japanese style non-Japanese such as curry & rice. The price range is around JPY700 - JPY1000. Not quite the lowest end, but their foods are quite affordable.
