Best Asian restaurants nearby. Discover the best Asian food in Kyoto. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Asian restaurants near you.. Kyoto is Japan's most traditional city. The lush and verdant cityscape encompasses sprawling rock gardens, vast palaces, and tall temples. The streets are alive with businessmen hurrying past Geiko and Makio in their full kimono, both on their way to work along cherry-tree lined walks. A historic hub that celebrates Japanese culture, from kabuki to textile weaving, Kyoto can also be surprisingly modern. It is one of Japan's largest, busiest, and most visited cities, with packed shopping mega-centers and high-rise offices. Suffused with shrines, outdoor markets, and nature walks, the small but bountiful location is also home to some of Japan's most contemporary architectural marvels, hippest cafes and eateries, and modish local brands and shops. It makes Kyoto a playful and sublime city, studded with as many bars and hole-in-the-wall fried food shops along the Kamogawa river as it is suffused with ancient ryokan and delicate wagashi shops. Kyoto is in the cross-hairs of Japan's most artful past and its energetic present.

This restaurant was recommended by the owner of our guesthouse. The food is excellent, a great concept. You have to choose 1 main dish and you will get 5 Japanese side dishes. There is sufficient choice for fish or non-fish dishes. The waitress is extremely friendly and helpful. At the end she will ask you to sign the guestbook. Very recommendable.

Following the massive amount of positive reviews, we gave Arash's Kitchen a try. Even though we really appreciate the fantastic japanese cuisine, we kind of like persian cuisine. The place itself looks a bit rundown, but not too bad. The owner was quite friendly and the food wasn't bad at all, only he gave my order to another group that just recently arrived.Despite the food being good, this place is massively overpriced without offering anything special or fancy, so I have some high doubts in the reviews placed here.We really couldn't see, why this place has such outstanding reviews, that really lets us question the reliability of Tripadvisor!

Waiter offered my group of 4 free drinks with our meal if we wrote a TripAdvisor review right there in the store. I declined. This is a violation of TripAdvisor guidelines. This can artificially inflate the ratings of the restaurant. Very disappointing.

Engine Ramen is a fantastic restaurant, particularly if you have any dietary restrictions. I had gluten free ramen for the first time and was blown away. The staff were great and really helpful, and the food was brilliant whether gluten free or standard. Would highly recommend a visit.

The staff was patient, respectful, helpful, upbeat, and very kind. An extremely sedulous staff. The performance was unforgettable by the Maiko. They way she performed, interacted, and her presence was mesmerizing. I was impressed by her character, demeanor, grace, and flare. It was a very special evening and I highly recommend this restaurant as well as the experience to meet with a Maiko. The food was delicious as well and the service was top notch.

Over 130 years of experience of serving Kobe beef. Enjoy the taste and know the real âreasonâ of why Mouriya is chosen out of many restaurants specialized in Kobe beef.
We had lunch on our honeymoon there, and everything was downright perfect. The staff is welcoming and professional. We had the lunch menu of Mouriya sirloin. After a delicious pumpkin soup and a salad, the sirloins were cut and cooked right in front of us.It was delicious, one of the best meat we ever had.Thank you very much to chief Tsuyoshi Kawai for his skillful cooking and his professionalism.

Visited with the family. the place is very hectic - they barely make time to explain how it works, and only after a reminder. the interior is very very basic, it is quiet crowded and noisy. To balance it, thd ingredients are fresh and very good quality. Overall good impression, but surprised they are so high in the ranking.ãæ¥åºãããã¨ããããã¾ããããããããã£ã¨ãã£ã¨ãããåºã«ãã¦ããã¾ããã¾ãæ¥æ¬ã«æ¥ãéã¯æ¯éãç«ã¡å¯ãä¸ãããæºè¶³ãã¦é ãããã®ã§ãé å¼µãã¾ãã

This restaurant has max 12 seats only. It is very very small restaurant. So big group cannot not be accepted.
Fantastic food and lovely owners who both speak English. Very welcoming and stayed opened for us even though they were meant to close. Very traditional inside with seating on the floor and cushions to sit on. We had combination okonomiyaki and the yaki soba. Both were super yummy. Would highly recommend coming here.
