Kyoto is Japan's most traditional city. The lush and verdant cityscape encompasses sprawling rock gardens, vast palaces, and tall temples. The streets are alive with businessmen hurrying past Geiko and Makio in their full kimono, both on their way to work along cherry-tree lined walks. A historic hub that celebrates Japanese culture, from kabuki to textile weaving, Kyoto can also be surprisingly modern. It is one of Japan's largest, busiest, and most visited cities, with packed shopping mega-centers and high-rise offices. Suffused with shrines, outdoor markets, and nature walks, the small but bountiful location is also home to some of Japan's most contemporary architectural marvels, hippest cafes and eateries, and modish local brands and shops. It makes Kyoto a playful and sublime city, studded with as many bars and hole-in-the-wall fried food shops along the Kamogawa river as it is suffused with ancient ryokan and delicate wagashi shops. Kyoto is in the cross-hairs of Japan's most artful past and its energetic present.

MIMARU KYOTO STATION is an apartment-style hotel right in front of Kyoto Station, with quick access to Kyoto Station and all of Kyoto's most exciting spots. Guests can enjoy rooms equipped with kitchens and separate baths and toilets.
The staff at hotel Mimaru Kyoto Station were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location can't be beat immediately next to the Kyoto station, but on the quieter side which is great for children and getting around the area. The room was spacious and clean, and perfectly set up for families who may not want to eat at restaurants for every meal. Its not the cheapest hotel in the area, but the room set up and location more than compensate. We will absolutely stay at this hotel again if we make another trip to Kyoto, and I will recommend it to all of my friends!

First off, we accidentally took a cab to the wrong MIMARU in Kyoto from the train station. The hotel staff there bent over backwards to make sure we got to the right one, MIMARU Horikawa Rokkaku, including calling another cab, calling ahead to the right hotel to let them know we were on the way, even loaded up our bags. Outstanding first impression of the whole company! The staff at MIMARU Horikawa Rokkaku were so personable! They did everything possible to make sure we felt at home in the hotel and in Kyoto! They made sure we knew about all the interesting things going on that weekend, and gave the best recommendations for sights to see and how to appreciate the city! They were so sweet to our little boy and made sure he was comfortable, providing a crib and everything! We will definitely be staying here next time we’re in Kyoto and we’ll be recommending it to all our friends! We’ll also definitely stay at MIMARU hotels everywhere else we travel in Japan!

This hotel is truly amazing! The room is pretty big compared to other hotels in Kyoto. It is located in a quiet residential area near Kyoto Station! I stayed in the “Studio with living room” type of room, a 34 m² room with balcony. ? The room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, toaster and a microwave! It’s so convenient ? Cooking utensils such as frying pans, pots, and kitchen knives are also provided in the guest rooms. The unique feature of this hotel is that you can rent plenty of items, so I tried a few.. Such as Coffee mill (with coffee beans) + coffee maker, that is very fun to make and the coffe is delicious ? I also borrowed a Projector and a Galaxy Light Projector. It felt like a movie theatre? Lastly, I was also able to try the Dyson Airwrap!! ? I had such a great time here ✨

We opened Kyoto River View House Kyoraku in Kiyamachi with traditional Kyoto culture in mind. It is the ideal holiday apartment style hotel. The location is very convenient. It’s close to main sightseeing areas, for example Kiyomizu Temple is just 20 minutes by foot. Nishiki Market is a 12 minute walk. Kyoraku is just 2 km from Kyoto Station: an 11 minute walk from Subway Gojo Station, or a 1 minute walk from Kawaramachi Matsubara bus stop. In addition, enjoy a multitude of cafes, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. The hotel is located right on the Kamo Riverside: of its 9 rooms, 5 rooms face the Kamo River and 4 rooms face the Takase Channel. Each apartment style room is equipped with a kitchenette with table and kitchen ware, microwave, IH stove, refrigerator, washing machine and dryer. Rooms are spacious, laid out, and clean. It is a great choice for couples as well as families.
Our room (the one facing the river at the third floor) is clean and quite spacious. Bathroom is in the decent size as well. We love the deco of the room. It has a taste of Japan. It was a nice feeling that you know you can have a good rest and refuel every day. One of main reason we selected this hotel is that many reviews mentioned it's in part of residential area and very quiet. It's quite true. The location is great. We often walked along the little Takase River to the main business area or back to the hotel, there is a bus station nearby though. The experience was nice.

RESI STAY THE KYOTO Fun and eye-catching, colorful rooms outfitted with everything needed for a comfortable stay! This apartment-type accommodation is located 13 minutes away on foot from Kyoto Station and is located near one of the most historical and popular temples in Kyoto. Nishi-Hongaji temple. The are many options for transportation in the area and easy access to many sightseeing locations. There are 38 rooms with eye-catching interiors and a variety of room types. This accommodation is great for groups large and small and for people visiting Kyoto for business and sightseeing alike!
The Kyoto is an apartment style hotel about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station on foot. For a family of three, it had a double bed and a single, which it seemed was squeezed into a room meant for just a double bed. The single bed was very close to the glass door to the terrace which meant it was a little cold at times in that part of the room. The furniture seemed relatively new and the beds were comfortable. There was a terrace, but the door had a sign warning visitors not to go outside - not sure why. This would have been a nice place to relax in nice weather. There was a kitchenette fully equipped with an induction hotplate and pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. There was also in-suite laundry. The kitchenette and laundry allowed us to save some money on dining and cleaning clothes. There is a convenience store 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The only drawback to this property is that you need to attend the reception office near Kyoto Station to register before going to the property, however there is a shuttle service from the reception office directly to the property. Overall, a very nice stay.
