The economic, cultural, and political capital of Kuwait, Kuwait City sits on the shores of the Persian Gulf, and is a mixture of exclusive Western-style hotels, designer shopping malls, traditional Islamic architecture, street markets, and still war torn buildings. The painted steel Kuwait Towers are the symbol of the city, and feature a viewing platform and restaurant looking out over Kuwait. Savor the charcoal-grilled seafood, steak and other specialties of Al Boom. Kuwait visitors will want to experience this unique dining venue aboard a traditional Arabic dhow. Sumptuous teak with gold-leaf accents gives this landlocked vessel the atmosphere of luxury sailing. Complete your VIP experience with expertly brewed coffee in the Captain's Diwaniya.
The restaurant is inside of a converted sailing ship that is permanently built into the landscape near the Radisson Blu Hotel. It is not on the water, but on land and it is totally stable. It is a steak and seafood restaurant. They take major credit cards, and can take large parties. We found the staff to be great, with attentive service and the food was very good. The main dish selections all come with access to a large variety of appetizers and salad items that would be sufficient to be a meal on their own if one wished as well as desserts. Like almost everywhere in Kuwait, the establishment is dry with no alcohol being legal to be served. You can expect equivalent of $70-$90 per person to visit for the inclusive meal. Being at a very nice hotel, the price seemed normal to me for the quality of the meal and service. I would advise to go try it if in a group, but maybe not as a lone individual.

The history of Mais Alghanim Restaurant dates back to the previous century when our founding father Edmond Barakat (Abu Emile), opened a canteen for the employees of Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Co., called “Mess Alghanim”.Over time, strong ties and personal relations grew between Abu Emile, Kuwaiti, and Expatriate Families extending over three phases and three generations. The first phase commenced in 1953 during which complete meals and take-away services were offered transforming the canteen into a restaurant for one and all.In 1974, Emile Barakat (Abu Edmond) presided over the business from his late father marking the beginning of the second phase. Under his leadership, the restaurant moved to the old Kuwait Television station in 1987 where it was registered at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the name of Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Co. It was at this time that the name was changed from“Mess Alghanim” to “Mais Alghanim”.Abu Edmond’s vision brought Mais Alghanim forward into the beginning of the third phase in 2003, to its present location, a building of true traditional Kuwaiti design, preserving the heritage and genuine tradition. With further development of this phase, Mais Alghanim continued the journey of hospitality by opening its doors to welcome guests at a new location in Mahboula in 2010.Hence, after more than 50 years of successful service, the late Abu Edmond’s brothers and eldest son continue to welcome you with the same spirit through Generations of Genuine Hospitality, and Good Food

“Pizza unites” was the message and the journey was long. The passion sparked in 2000 at Pizza Ciro, and all that came after was a fire to bring the true taste of Neapolitan pizza to Kuwait. A series of trials and error in the backyard with nothing but enthusiasm and a wood-fired oven. It was time to dig a little deeper and pursue it a little harder, with the help and guidance of Pizzaioli such as Enzo Coccia, Giulio Adriani shaped and kneaded the concept of simplicity and personality in our own pizza dough, with God’s blessing and patience SOLO was cultivated in the heart of Sharq, the taste of Napoli was born in Kuwait in 2011. #GodBless
City urban ‘underground’ atmosphere - little to no traffic and close to building yard but no noise from that but gives an interesting big city atmosphere.
Pleasant service and the pizzas are crispy and topped with fresh ingredients.
Next door is a strange outdoor hanging-out place with non-italian style music that put us off unfortunately.

Enjoy the renowned dining experience filled with the flavor of China at the Peacock Chinese Restaurant. The oriental ambiance is underlined by the Chinese artifacts and decorations.
The place is absolutely nice: design, service, tea and roasted nuts. Of course, food.
While waiting for food they serve roasted nuts: it some and if you order, for example, soup & dimsums that will be quite enough for a bite.
Portions are pretty small unlike usual practices in Chinese restaurants.

Combining quality ingredients with vibrant atmosphere, Pepper is the ideal steak restaurant to relax after a long day. Indulge in the most succulent of prime cuts, accompanied by delicious side dishes at Pepper restaurant at our hotel in Kuwait. Our experienced chefs know how to cook steak to perfection - whether you prefer your steak well done or rare, our tender steaks are expertly prepared.
Compared to both reputation and price, the food at the Pepper steakhouse was good but not great. Surf and turf a bit mean with one single shrimp. Of course if it had been possible to pair the meat with a glass of Malbec rather than lemon and mint, the opinion might have been swayed slightly more positively. C’est la vie.
Service and atmosphere top notch.
