Food was good, service very sweet (though english is not fluent with the staff, to put it mildly), attentive and friendly. Food arrived quickly. The place is lovely and the location great - just above thw waterfalls.

Restaurant "Metropole" has been operating in this building since 1910. Home of the famous "Kuldiga" salad and "Metropole" venison burger, it has survived three fires and a ghost, but is still operating in the heart of Kuldiga old town. The restaurant serv
We ended up eating here purely by chance - it was the Monday after a festival and everything else was closed! We both ate fish (halibut) which was extremely well-prepared but you don't get a lot of it - be sure to order sides if you want to leave feeling full! Great desserts and nice ambience on the balcony on a summer's evening.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. The portions are big and the prices very reasonable. The staff very friendly, too. Nothing was asked to much and they did not even say anything when our son covered the whole tablecloth in chocolate. I was relieved to see the waitress laugh about it. My parents went there as well and loved it, too. We can only recommend this place.

Small unassuming door leads you down into a quaint restaurant / bar. A very reliable source told me this is where to locals come. Service was promt and polite. You'll love the extensive menu of creative Latvian dishes. Great food with wonderful presentation. For appetizers get the "Ķiploku grauzdiÅi (garlic rye bread with cheese) for the table with a round of beer. Also for sharing get the "Kule Å¡Å«mÄs (bulls testicles). Yea, I know it does not sound appetizing, but it is very tasty. I've done a lot of restaurant reviews, and I can say this is at the top of my list for the full Latvian experience at a reasonable price.
