ASO BASE BACKPACKERS opened in Nov2009. We are family owned brand new backpackers hostel, carefully designed for free and independent travelers.ASO is located at the centre of Kyushu island and we are located only 2minuts easy walk from JR.ASO station which is the gateway station to the active volcanic mountain, Mt.ASO. There are several trekking/ hiking course in the mountain which makes ASO an ideal destination for nature lovers.
Lovely people, clean rooms really enjoyed my stay here! One thing to note though the showers were a little annoying they were on a 10 second push thing which made showering not quite as nice. However It was still a very nice high quality shower. They also sell some food, post cards and other stuff there which was nice! Thank you for having us!

“Next-generation Designer’s Capsule Hotel” has opened right in front of Kumamoto Station. The features of Capsule hotels/ Business hotels/ Guesthouses are integrated into an accommodation with new sensations like never before. A new suggestion for customers who are not fond of capsule hotels Extending our cordial hospitality, we offer a relaxing time and space for your trip.
Just few steps from the main railway station and couple of stops by tram to the city center. Great place for travelers around Japan due to this position. Stuff is very friendly, speal english. Accomodation is super clean! Sleeping in small private rooms behind the courtain or if you pay more its behind the door.

The host is very friendly and explains straightforward everything to you. We were planing to go to Aso and she checked the current visiting status for us. The room was japanese style, you like it or not. The walls of the room are very thin and the roomkey had problems with unlocking the room. Some guests on booking.com have mentioned a simple toast breakfast, there was none when we came here.

We booked with some trepidation as it was so cheap (12000 per night) but this was one of our favourite place we stayed in Japan. We booked one of the five Premium Switch Plus rooms, which came with its own kitchen with a washing machine, fridge and cooker, and a bathroom. Everything was immaculately clean. There was enough space for the four of us to sleep on the floor. The place is very close to Aso Farm Land which was handy. There is a Lawson shop 5-10 min drive away for food. Not the easiest of places to find, with no signs and in a slightly surreal underpopulated housing estate, but we managed with a hired car and a sat nav. I'd avoid arriving in the dark!

Hostel NAKASHIMAYA is female exclusive use.Male customer can't make a reservation. Nakashimaya is a traditional Japanese inn and is located in the downtown of Kumamoto, providing you with rooms with tatami and futon at very reasonable price. You can enjoy dyeing at us. Enjoy taking a stroll by Kumamoto castle, one of the three major castles in Japan.Very near Kumamoto Kotsu Center.Easy access to, Aso, the famous caldera, Amakusa, Kurokawa onsen,Beppu in Oita prefecture, Takachiho in Miyazaki prefecture, Fukuokak, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Saga and etc. Best for you finding a reasonable inn like a guest house, a youth hostel, and an inn for backpackers.Enjoy dyeing. How about making your T-shirt and sneakers by Roketsuzome or Shiborizome.
Decorated beautifully with all the girly things. You may need to take the luggage upstairs and no amenities are provided (pay per use). But the staff are nice and facilities very clean. It's not close to the main strip - halfway between the main station and downtown but close to the tram stop. I didn't see mention of any dyeing workshops or anything though.
