Things to do in Kuala Selangor

We passed by this Restaurant during our trip from Sekinchan, Kuala Selangor to Fire Fly resort park, Tanjung Karang. Noticed it was full and we agreed to come for a try later. The Restaurant is more alike with those Malay style Restaurant, ( or for those who have tried Kajang Satay in Kajang, KL) We ordered 20 sticks and they have the choice of big or small. Without thinking much and we ordered the big one, thought it must be somehow the tricks of how they prepare it...Ended up with a huge surprise, each skewer is approximately 100 gram and more (after grilled). And the taste was nice when you dip with the semi-sweet peanuts sauce....I was fulled after 7 sticks which normally i can have more than 20 sticks. Do give this restaurant a try if you happen to come this place. You will Never get disappointed with the Huge Satay...:)

The restaurant was clean and tidy. Being next to the river it was also very breezy, we remained cool throughout.
Food was good and the prices reasonable. Service was as expected. Quantities were large. So beware of ordering too much and not being able to finish all the food. The people on the table next to us left so much food to be thrown away. Sad!

I was looking for a different type of vegetarian food in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya and was recommended to this restaurant by a friend.
I have been to this place twice in two weeks! and was not disappointed at all. This unassuming restaurant is in a row of shop houses with fairly basic decor, not much to talk about.
The dishes were quite different from most Chinese type vegetarian restaurants where many of the dishes served were made from gluten base food .We were told by the manager Liang, that most of the dishes were made form various types of mushrooms, and they were most delicious.
One of the orders of food came served in a boat shape dish with vegetables cooked in a number of different ways, satays made from big chunks of thick mushroom, deep fried lotus roots which were very crispy and which also came with different sauces. This order came with about seven different types of beautifuly prepared vegetables, one of which was a yam basket filled with fresh and juicy mange-tout beans and the yam basket tasted real "yammy". Another dish which was very nice was the steam fish( made from tofu) with ginger sauce and the combination was excellent, the ginger was not too overpowering and really complimented the delicate tofu fish.
One of my favourite dishes was the eggplant deep fried and accompanied with a sweet caramelized sauce and dried chillies and tasted wonderful, a must try.
The lamb curry served with mantoa (fried bread) not too special ,available from other vegetarian restaurants. Organic brown rice was available, we had fried mee suah (a type of rice noodles) and it came very well prepared and not soggy and oily, but with lots of crispy beansprouts and diferent vegetables.
We had quite a number of other dishes and all were very tasty and well prepared.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely be visiting the place again.
The restaurant had a varied menu and they also served pizza which looked very good but we did not try.
They also served a hot fruit tea with honey and we also enjoyed this drink .
If possible, ask for Liang to recommend the dishes as the waitors and waitresses are not too fluent with the English language.

Stay away from the fixed menu. Choose the seafood from the Aquariums. Fresh lobster, shrimp, different types of fish, etc. Beautiful sunset by the river. Staff is friendly. Located inside a 100 year old chinese fisherman village. Locals enjoy the place as well.

My first time going to this place. Seafood was good and fresh. Food price quite reasonable. Service is quite slow as there was to many people there. Make sure to order everything one go. If you need to add on any orders you will need to wait for quite sometime.

Clean and modern, Halal and casual. Azee personally greets you and assures the quality of the Halal meat and Indian vegetarian dishes. Some typical Malay Deserts.

Fish was clearly fresh, Lala was delicious, service was prompt but nothing stood out. Neither the prices were cheap given the ambience standards. Extra points for having a clearly priced English menu which helps tourists
Felt over hyped so would recommend a special visit. Combining it with Firefly park etc for a one-time visit is good

Visited this place with mum and they have a wide range of "pau"or steaming hot buns stuffed with "kaya",red bean, chicken, peanut etc etc.The shop also serves fried noodles,"roti canaï" and chicken chop for breakfast.
Coffee is served hot and steaming and its really delightful, some drawbacks are the place appeared a bit littered with rubbish.Cleanliness can be improved a bit.Otherwise a nice place to hangout for breakfast or brunch.

Yang Meng restaurant serves authentic and fresh food. It's reasonably priced and cheaper than most of the other restaurants such as jeti or riverview. It's simply less commercialised here and has a laid back ambience. The service is also great!
