We stayed at the hotel and were tired after a very long drive. The restautant offers several small menus, depending on the time of day. We had very good and professional service. The food tasted good too and best of all we could go up to our room afterwards and relax.

Make sure you order the DAGENS. A small salad, drink and the meal are included in the price! Our meal was good. Excellent price of just 75 Swedish crowns per person. I will eat here again the next time I'm in Kristinehamn. The place itself - which I liked - is nothing fancy, but the food was wholesome and tasty. Lots of locals were eating there. The building itslef was an older large house, which gives it a homelike feel.

During a recent visit to the city we booked table for 4 for a Sunday night.
The place is amazing with part of the original design of the old court building (designed by architects Axel and Hjalmar Kumlien and finished in 1883) intact.
Restaurant, which is fairly, recently opened (spring 2015) is Italian but has extensive a la carte menu both with regard to fish and meat. We had starters (toast Skagen), both steaks and fish for main courses and ice cream Deserts.
Everything was served in generous portions, plenty of fresh vegetables and to our surprise it tasted much better than you would expect from a small town restaurant. In summary, very friendly knowledgeable personnel, great service, we would go back any day both for atmosphere (ceiling must be 10 m high), friendly service and good food. Can be recommended!

We wandered in here on a very rainy night, having been told of the restaurant by the clerk at our hotel, and we were seated immediately by the lovely young server. She presented us with the limited summer menu, but it had exactly what we were looking for, locally smoked salmon. However, what we received was far better than what we expected. Never have we had more delicious salmon. In addition, she let us taste which of the white wines they were offering before we settled on a bottle. That was a gesture above and beyond. When we praised the salmon after our meal, she came back with the address of the local fish smoker who were the purveyors. The next morning we back tracked a bit to the smoker and bought four packages to bring back to the USA. The ambience, it is an old ship's mast shop from the days when Kristinehamm was the iron ore shippingcenter of the world, and location of this restaurant are also excellent, and during the summer months entertainment is provided on the weekends.

We were a medium sized party made up of Swedish and British. Although there is self-service/buffer we sat and ordered from the menu. Overall the food and service was very good although there was some confusion when serving up the meals as the waiters referred to them by their numbers listed on the menu rather than the names of the meals .... the menus had been taken away at this point in time, and not everyone could remember their meal numbers!

Unexpected wonderful delicious Sunday brunch just outside Kristinehamn. An amazing spread with something for everyone. Every dish well thought out with several sauce options. Refined homemade pickled herring (Swedish speciality), dill cured salmon, light smoked salmon, moose salami or pastrami! If you prefer it can be au naturell or paired with wonderful different sauces. What about a licorice mustard sauce or a wonderful creamy caviar sauce! Or A Cumberland fig sauce to go with your smoked duck breast? Plan your travel, call ahead and enjoy! You can spend the night if you also want to try their interesting dinner menu! The rooms are sweet. Next time we will.

In what used to be the boiler room of the mental hospital, this little restaurant serves lunch and coffee. Enjoy it before or after visiting the arts museum. Nicely situated by the big lake Vänern.
