The Loibnerhof is the longstanding classic pillar of restaurants in the Wachau. For decades, it has enjoyed cult status for its outstanding regional cuisine.
Our local guide brought us to this vineyard in our Danube tour. It was a place that he threw a party in.
The ambience is just lovely, charming and peaceful. Definitely the highlight of our tour. The wine was as expected, really good. But what surprised us was that the dessert was one of the best that we have tried. We have had many desserts in our holiday in Austria, and we find ourselves thinking of the dessert we had here.

Landhaus Bacher has been one of the first culinary addresses in the Wachau for many years. It is one of Austria’s very best restaurants.
I have heard a lot about this place and I am glad to have finally visited. Service was impeccable and the space gorgeous. My only small gripe is that the WC is across the courtyard. If you are female and it rains... you are stuck in mud, I presume. Enough of that...
The food was excellent and absolutely delicious. Perfectly plated and paced, it was definitely worth the visit. I had the spring veggie menu and, because it was easter, the dinner ended with an easter bunny filled with chocolate covered nuts. Yum! I also ordered the souffle/rhubarb Schmarrn for which I had high expectations. I think it needed a bit more sugar and far less hazelnuts. The latter overpowered the subtle egg flavor if the souffle.

The staff, atmosphere and of course the food is excellent. Special food wishes, due to allergies or intolerances, is absolutely no problem. Big charming courtyard is also available. The quality of the restaurant is excellent. Don't forget to stop by a drink at the in-house bar. Two charming barkeepers and an excellent choice of drinks are available.

That place seems to be a traditional beer restaurant with a solid food selection. I recommend to try one of their "Gulasch" that goes nicely with a Stiegl beer. Really nice atmosphere, which is a mix of old charm and traditional beer joint.

Great location, friendly staff, good and tasty Austrian cuisine with good vegan choices, not expensive, reasonable English spoken

This restaurant has a wonderful
Outdoor section, including sofas and chairs along the Danube, but is also lovely indoors, with an evil dessert display. Gather up all your discipline!
Again, we enjoyed a diversity of meals. I had a lovely homemade gnocchi dish with mozzarella balls and cheery tomatoes with a crisp green salad . A friend ordered a main salad course with avocado, artichokes and tomatoes, and two other had roast beef on crust rolls with coleslaw. A glass or two of Grüner Veltlinger was a perfect accompaniment!

A beautiful old buiding and lovely wood panelled dining areas. Very friendly service and good quality home style meals. We shared a fleisch knoedel (potato dumplings with mince filling, served on a bed of saucy kraut with speck) - very tasty and comforting food.
Highly recommended.

Our family have been going to this little quaint gasthaus in the old part of Krems ( over 1000 years old) for over 50 years. The food is absolutely amazing and exactly what you would expect from Austrian cuisine.
Not sure what AB from Canada experienced but we always have had a great time here.

The waitress was friendly and pleasant (hence 3/5 rather than 2!). Casual vibe. Sadly, I was very disappointed with the food. The miso soup was OK but luke warm; the tofu very bland, the sashimi icy cold and the fried noodles probably the best of the lot (but nothing special). Only stayed one night in Krems but try somewhere else!

The food was alright and pretty much standard heurigen fair. However, the server forgot one of our party's order and didn't seem that concerned about rectifying the error.
She also simply disappeared with our change. We were in a rush and not about to squabble over a few euros but, suffice it to say it was certainly not our intention to tip her over 20%, especially given the order error and lackadaisical attitude towards rectifying it.
