Things to do in Pogradec
I have now been in Pogradec for 2 weeks & this is, by a country mile, the best meal I've had here. I had a large glass of red wine, a plate of calamari & a bowl of spaghetti for £6!It would have been good value even if mediocre but it was far from that. The calamari were light, crisp & dry, cooked to perfection. The pasta was homemade and cooked al dente, unlike elsewhere in the Balkans where it seems to be boiled almost to extinction! I will be going again & being more wide ranging in my choices but I would highly recommend that you give it a try, I think it's a star in the making.
It's one of the only places by the lake Ohrid where you can eat fresh Koran and many typical Albanian dishes but not only. The staf is superb and very friendly. It's totally to be recommended for family and romantic stays in front of the lake. It has also Live Music with local romantic song.PS: By the way the bad review I see it's not this restaurant can be seen by the photos I've posted.
Here you can find traditional and hospitality. We are happy to serve our dishes and hope to enjoy your stay here.
I came there to have diner while it was raining. Not everything on the menu was available but what they had was honest and delicious food: the house salad very well prepared and a chicken filet. As a desert the friendly waiter was sent to get some delicious pie. I had a great evening talking with the waiter and his friends and my first evening in Albania was unforgetable!

This restaurant is very smartly finished in a traditional style and provides a really pleasant dining environment. We received a warm welcome from the waiting staff and allowed to take our pick of the tables available. The menu is varied, with lots of traditional Albanian options, and the food is very good. Wine is available by the bottle or on draught in carafes. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options.

We stopped here for a pre-dinner drink on the way to our hotel (Vila Sigal). Having checked out the restauraunts close to our hotel and feeling a little disappointed, we decided to return to Restaurant Pogradeci - a great decision!Despite a huge downpour, the restaurant continued to fill up - a good sign indeed. We ordered the Tave Korani - a trout unique to Lake Ohrid, baked with nuts, sauce and onions - and the Speca te ferguara - peppers with cottage cheese. The Tave was fantastic, probably one of our best meals in three weeks in Albania, and the Speca very good. With two beers and a glass of wine, the bill was E27.50, which we thought excellent value. The service was very good despite the restaurant being quite full. Our waiter spoke very good English, which was much appreciated. We thoroughly recommend visiting the restaurant - and ordering the Tave Korani and the Speca. You will not be disappointed!

Wonderful experience at The Change after many disappointments in Pogradec. Not a tourist trap but a very decent restaurant with great attention to details and food in general. Excellent value for money (prices are really decent, I was expecting something more expensive), good service and great food in general. The only reason I'm not putting 5 stars is because we didn't try the famous T-Bone steak or the Lamb (for 3 people minimum) that the chef cooks in front of you. Otherwise you can trust these guys, they know what they're doing. A safe bet, and one of the best (if not the best) places for food in Pogradec.
