Kollam (IPA: [koɭɭəm]) or Quilon (Coulão), formerly Desinganadu, is an old seaport and city on the Laccadive Sea coast of the Indian state of Kerala. The city is on the banks Ashtamudi Lake. Kollam has had a strong commercial reputation since the days of the Phoenicians and Romans. Fed by the Chinese trade, it was mentioned by Ibn Battuta in the 14th century as one of the five Indian ports he had seen during the course of his twenty-four year travels. Desinganadu's rajas exchanged embassies with Chinese rulers while there was a flourishing Chinese settlement at Kollam. In the 9th Century, on his way to Canton, China, Persian merchant Sulaiman al-Tajir found Kollam to be the only port in India visited by huge Chinese junks. Marco Polo, the Venetian traveller, who was in Chinese service under Kublai Khan in 1275, visited Kollam and other towns on the west coast, in his capacity as a Chinese mandarin.

We have chosen a range of delicacies from across the world, including Kerala, for you to savour while you are with us. Be it the spread of a European breakfast, an Oriental lunch or a Kerala Sadhya, you will be spoilt for choice. It would be a memorable dinner overlooking the Ashtamudi Lake or an evening spent reminiscing old times with friends over a drink, Keraleeyam at The Raviz Ashtamudi, Kollam curates the best experiences for you. While the name itself promises a complete culinary tour of Kerala’s flavours and fragrances, Keraleeyam also offers a wide range of multi-cuisine options.
I ate breakfast here every morning during my stay and it was ok. There is an egg cooking station, breads, fruits, traditional Indian breakfast foods, juices, cereals, yogurts, etc.... Nothing is knock-your-socks-off delicious. It is a buffet. It will do while you stay here.

The first name which comes to mind when we feel like having food while travelling is ICH because they keep the unique taste and quality of food in all outlets. While travelling to and way back fromTrivandrum, I have dined from ICH several times and I like their Masala Dosa, Cutlet and coffee. The service also is really good. The restaurant is with good Seating and maintained neat and clean. Nice restaurant to dine with family or friends.

We ate here twice in 2 days . Loved it so much. Food, ambience and service were all on point. Being vegetarian, our choices were quite limited as this restaurant seems to be more renowned for its non-veg options. However, we were able to get excellent kerala parottas, paneer dishes, veg kholaphuri, veg fried rice/noodles and the gobi manchurian was to die for! Definitely recommended!
