Drifting serenely in the Gulf of Thailand, the palm-fringed island of Ko Tao takes its name from the abundant sea turtles that reside on its shores. White sand beaches sheltered by steep hills – some only accessible with four-wheel drive vehicles – and 300 days of sun per year invite long afternoons of lounging.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and were quick to resolve a problem when we had noisy neighbours. They sorted the situation and were very apologetic even though it wasn't their fault, just unpleasant guests. The breakfast is simple, but just what we needed and free! I also liked all the greenery and the koi carp and it was nice to have a balcony. Overall a very good place to stay.

Situated 800 m from the ideal Sairee Beach on Ko Tao, Chaantalay Hotel offers comfortable rooms and free WiFi access throughout. Guest rooms provide air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a flat-screen cable TV with DVD player. They also come equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and kitchenware. The private balcony has chairs, while the private bathroom includes a shower and free toiletries. Facilities at Chaantalay Hotel include a tour desk and free parking. Restaurants, bars and shops are within walking distance of this property. Mae Haad Pier is a 15-minute drive away, while Nangyuan Island is a 20-minute boat ride away.
We spent 4 nights at Chantaalay but could have spent more! The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was comfy! We included breakfast which was great value and there was plenty of choice. The staff are all very nice, welcoming and happy to help with any bookings or queries you may have. You can rent a moped from the hotel for 150baht which is cheap and better than going through a rental agency, some great food to be had nearby and a supermarket almost across the road is very handy! Would recommend highly

Hotel is well situated. I would suggest they make provision for guests to enjoy some light drinks at a bar to be created or put at Hotel. Also the fact that breakfast are not served at Hotel is a concern. Staff at Restaurant providing breakfast on behalf of Hotel is not friendly and helpful. Otherwise Hotel is fine to stay jver for one night.

We came to Coral View on recommendation from a friend for diving. We stayed in one of the sea view chalets. It’s a simple accommodations with comfortable bed, A/C and shower. We were given water daily and fresh towels. Breakfast was again simple, a choice of eggs, pancakes or chicken rice. All served with a plate of fresh fruits. The beach and beach bar was beautiful. We ate some great Thai food at the beach bar for lunch and dinner after diving. Cocktails were good, coconuts even better. Plenty of snorkelling to be done at the beach. The staff are lovely and accommodating. There is a shuttle service into town, which you can contact via Line/WhatsApp to be collected. We didn’t hire a scooter as it’s very steep to get to the hotel and the shuttle was very convenient. They also arranged for some ladies to come to the resort for a Thai massage, which was very good and comparable to prices on the rest of the island. We had a very relaxing time at Coral View, it’s a very simple accommodation but fair for the price. Our only suggestions would be to install a mosquito screen on the doors and to have a small soap dish by the sink in the bathroom. Thank you - we will recommend you to our friends in Thailand

Eco resort for nature lovers, nestled in the tropical forest, with access to first class snorkelling amongst beautiful coral reef. Yoga classes and courses available on scenic open-air sala. Authentic Thai food served throughout the day, peaceful, secluded and natural environment. Amazing location in the gulf of Thailand.
We absolutely loved our lunch experience at the Baan Talay Koh Tao Restaurant in Koh Tao. This is a 'off the beaten path' restaurant tucked high in the hills of the island which wasn't easy to find. But once you arrive you are greeted with a trendy restaurant with an unspeakable view of the Bay. The menu provides both Thai and Western choices and also includes a lovely selection of smoothies, shakes, and lattes/coffees. We enjoyed 2 spaghetti's - olio and carbonara along with an authentic greek salad. The restaurant also features a delightful bakery which had some tempting choices. We decided to split a piece of Apple Crumble which was absolutely delicious. Finally, the bill came which was only 700 thb which I found incredibly cheap. All around, place was a winner. We loved the service and the environment and would highly recommend this place to others if you're willing to make the trek here.

For over 30 years, Carabao dive resort has been welcoming guests to Koh Tao's quiet, southern bay of Chalok Baan Khao. We have remained at heart a family business but have grown to now include a highly rated Scuba diving school, Thai & international restaurant, cocktail bar, travel & tour agent, and a brand new swimming pool. We have a full range of private Air-conditioned rooms, fan rooms and dormitory, all with views of the beach and across the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Tao's pier town and main nightlife area are no more than 4km's away meaning you can enjoy their delights but also retreat into the chilled, friendly, nature of Chalok village and relaxed hospitality of Carabao.
Stayed here with my partner for 3 nights to do the open water diving course & a refresher for him. I didn’t complete the course due to my own issues but my partner continued to go out and dive with the group and I was allowed to come and just chill on the boat which was lovely. Matteo the manager was really understanding and incredibly friendly and approachable and made our stay very memorable. The rooms are very simple but it’s to be expected with the price as the rooms are very much hostel style. Lots of backpackers come and go so great to meet new people. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful sea view and a clothes rail to hang wet clothes. We had burgers twice at the adjoining restaurant, mine was a vegetarian burger which I was pretty impressed with as it was a homemade bean burger - very tasty. Some other great places to eat & drink locally too, a really nice community vibe. Overall we had an amazing time! We were very sad to be leaving. The diving course package is great value for money, there’s a very friendly atmosphere here and in a beautiful location. Thank you!

Some of the worst and most careless service have come across in Thailand. Checked in at lunch time, get back in early evening very cold in a rain storm, there is no hot water. Call reception to sort out... Sorry we don't have many guests now is the answer. Well you should tell that at check-in time if u aren't going to have basic warm water in the shower. Says they will fix in 10 mins. 30 mins go by, call again as still not working. 10 more minutes they say. 30 more mins go by, still not working, the useless reception lady has closed reception and home home. Doesn't bother calling to say the status or that they can't make hot water work... Just carelessness goes home. Next day still zero warm water , so check out. Ask for a later checkout (the hotel is empty so this will cost them nothing). No she says this is not the policy, cannot do. The staff here are complete idiot's and have no service mind at all. The facilities are terrible, the place is run down, outdated and dirty. I highly recommend you avoid this lousy establiment at all costs.

Hands down the best service and nicest hotel staff we have had in our two months in Thailand. Staff was very helpful with our reservation and onwards journey from Koh Tao. Rooms were clean with a very nice bed and good balcony with sea view. We enjoyed our stay so much that we came back after a stay at a different hotel. We used the dive center connected to the hotel, and it was great!
