A blending of several small villages on the southwestern coast created the current incarnation of Kochi (or Cochin), where sunset strolls, sampling fresh fish from seaside vendors and boat rides through the islands just offshore top visitors' to-do lists. Art centers showcase the traditional dance, Kathakali. European influences are seen in the 16th-century Portuguese-built churches and forts, while the mark of early Chinese traders is visible in the unusual fishing nets dotting the shoreline.

Situated on Willingdon Island with a magnificent view of Cochin harbour, Taj - Malabar Resort & Spa is a fine balance between yesterday and tomorrow. Our lobby is a unique mix of chic and classic. The heritage wing, built in 1935, reflect the inherent beauty of Cochin. And the tower wing houses newly renovated guestroom suites, each a delicate mix of the classic with the contemporary.
It’s a great hotel in form of location and brand. But somE staff are so arrogant and bad. Which ruin our trip. Otherwise we fell taj as our family we are ready to cooperate at any level. Hope things get better in future.

Feel the silence of the shores Ramada Resort is a poem. Written on the banks of a tranquil lake. You find the island of silence just 17 km from Kochi, Kerala's metropolis, and 2 km from a busy national highway. The Kumbalam backwaters is part of the famed Vembanad Lake. As the gates open, a sudden change in landscape, a riot of greenery, and silence, greet you. A harmonious mix of exhibitive desert trees and the natural flora of Kerala instil in you the same feeling you experience while watching your child take its first steps: excitement! Pass through the front office that exudes the Keralan hospitality, laced with the professionalism of Ramada, and walk into one of those 24 pool-facing villas. The long walk itself is a refreshing change, compared with boxing oneself into the usual elevator. The greenery soothes the nerves of even a weary traveller. You have started experiencing the space. And silence. Oh! Its space everywhere. Spread across 7 acres of land, Ramada Resort has only 42 living spaces. You would perhaps enjoy the largest per capita space on a resort in Kerala! Before stepping into your room, you find the ground floor is just floor, and not a room! Your kids may want to stay back and play. Let them, and you allow yourself into your cottage. In the super luxury of the room, you will come across the best amenities. Open the glass door and step into the balcony. The meandering pool stretches itself to 110 metres in front of you. Its waters almost touch the lake, which touches the eastern horizon for sure. The enormous expanse of the backwater, lined with coconut trees, will make you feel the thrill of floating freely on a ship's deck, a la Jack and Rose. It's a play of water, mixed with serenity. You feel engulfed by infinity. Almost. In the morning, the sun rising from across the waters will greet you on the balcony. You may feel like doing a sun-salutation, the most beneficial yoga posture. The fisherman in his canoe rowing against the myriad hues of morning sun will be a picture postcard scene that reminds you of the painting competition in your school days. In the evening, the reflections of the setting sun on the serene waters would take you to the empire of silence. The water, layers and layers of it, may tempt you to try some water therapy. Walk into the spa, Kerala's largest. It offers more than 25 varieties of herbal and western massages. Treat yourself to foot reflexology and leave the seat with every organ in your body relaxed. Or try Thai massage. Or Balinese. Treat your senses to the aroma of freshly fried seafood. With your stomach directing you towards the restaurant, the turn in the corridor next to it opens up suddenly into an empty expanse of greenery. The deja vu feeling of having one's own extra space suddenly overpowers the unassuming traveller. It takes some time to adjust to this heavenly feeling and finally when lunch is served, you realise even time has no boundaries in this part of the world and stands still.
I reached at the Ramada Resort at Kochi with my family on the first of June 2022. The property is quite far from the Kochi International Airport. We reached around 10 pm but we were surprised to find a very warm welcome awaiting us. The in room dining staffs very courteously delivered our dinner within 20 min of placing the order and the food was very good. The room that we have booked is a luxury room of 400 sq ft but it doesn’t have a lake side view. The property is awesome and it’s location is just super. It is in itself a holiday if you don’t want to go out anywhere.

Aquatic Island in the lush green village of Kumbalangi, close to the city of Kochi is indeed unique. The Government of India has promoted Kumbalangi as the ideal destination to represent village tourism and Aquatic is testimony to just that – serving distinctive and delicious Kumbalangi Cuisine, surrounded by backwaters and paddy fields, nurturing the precious ecosystem and committed to responsible tourism.
Weekend getaway for our parents to have a relaxing outing and to celebrate our mom's birthday. Ambience is superb, floating cottage with bedroom underwater was totally different experience. We are very thankful to Rajesh, guests relationship manager who made it special for our mom by celebrating the birthday on behalf we children. Authentic Kerala style Food and Kathakali performance were the ultimate. Overall our elderly parents enjoyed the great stay at Aquatic Resort.

Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau is located on the banks of the river Periyar in the region of this old port city of Muziris. At the site, the Periyar is just a few km from the sea, mingling with backwater canals & lagoons with untainted rural Kerala landscape on its banks. Featuring 150 meters of riverfront, 7 river facing bedrooms, infinity edge swimming pool, an Ayurvedic spa, boat jetty etc.

French owned, designed and managed Backwaters Boutique Eco Resort, 200 meters from the Arabian Sea. Thatched roofs bungalows, with sit-out offering direct view on the backwaters, and private garden. Indo-Mediterranean restaurant. Traditional massage and yoga class available. Free Wi-Fi lounge area. Handicraft and designer clothes Corner Shop.
Budget friendly stay. Close to the Cherai beach. They don't have much amenities to offer. The rooms were clean, not too big though. We had a private seating area outside the room. They have a nice lawn to chill. Indeed a peaceful property. Our room had a backwaters view(not all rooms have the view, so mention it while booking). Staff was good. Got complimentary breakfast, which was quite okay.

Cradled between the turbulent waves of the Arabian Sea on one side and the serene backwaters on the other, Sea Lagoon Health Resort, Cherai comes with an unparalleled view that is sure to engage the senses. Modeled to represent the traditional architecture of Kerala.
Undoubtedly one of the best 4 star resorts in Kerala with a backwater and beach frontage. Have stayed at this property many a times and always had a good experience. This time though it was different as service levels and food quality have taken a hit. Spa services were available on call. Hope to see the standard go back to 5 star level on my next visit as I am sure to be back.

Very good property spread over abt 8 acres. Good, friendly and helpful staff. Quality of food needs improvement. Though rooms are good- there are a couple of short-comings. Contact numbers of reception or house-keeping NOT displayed anywhere. Rooms are allotted with out any pre-checks.

Enjoy individually styled deluxe seaview rooms or quiet garden rooms. Dine at the beautiful pool side terrace where we are serving traditional Keralan and north Indian dishes. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, tea/coffee and air conditioning. Free wi-fi is available across the property. Local seafood is our speciality. Keralan/western breakfasts are offered. Cooking classes too!! 36 Palms is only 45 min from Kochi airport. Enjoy backwater tours starting just 30 min away from our property. Relax in the SPA or take detox (panchkarma) ajurvedic treatments. Swim in the sea or infinity pool. Relax, just relax, rejuvenate and recharge feeling like in your own beach house.
There are only eight rooms in the resort. Two Rooms in the main area of the resort alone is sea facing.. We booked the resort with an intention to stay in the sea facing rooms. We were allotted with the rooms in the heritage wing is not sea facing. The same is like a normal room with a small garden in front. If you climb few steps, you will be able to face the sea.. That area is a private space for these 6 six rooms and dining is provided in that area. Food is ok.. You have only limted choices for dinner. Break fast was also ok.. The break fast is arranged in the main building. There is an infinity pool in the resort. But the resort is not maintained properly. The staffs are friendly. But they don't have any professionalism in their attitude and all. Its not a beach side resort.. You can just sit and view the sea from the restaurant and the dining area of the hotel or from the two sea facing rooms
