It's been a while since I left a review for Spire, even though we must have visited on around 20 occasions between times. This is our "go to" choice and Friday evening was no exception for a birthday celebration. The quality of the food and the value on offer is still unparalleled! And as usual, fantastic friendly and efficient service from Colette and the team.Thank you and keep it up Spire!

Istanbul is a Turkish restaurant and grill located in the heart of Woolton village. We are well known for our timeless Turkish hospitality. We offer a huge selection of Turkish dishes from sizzling kebabs to authentic Turkish breakfast.
Went for breakfast on a Sunday and thought the waiting times were awful. The place was not even half full, we waited 10mins for our order to be taken. After waiting for 35mins for our good we overheard a waitress explaining to another table there was a 30min wait on food, at this point with 2 hungry children I decided to leave. I cancelled my order and got the impression there were not too bothered. Shame the service and food used to be great but my latest visit has shown itâs gone downhillHi Hoochy79, thank you for writing to let us know about your unsatisfactory experience at Istanbul BBQ & Bistro. We realize the importance of your time and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We apologize your visit did not meet your expectations. Went for an evening meal with friends after hearing great things about this restaurant & seeing a lot of people visiting on social media. The restaurant itself inside is lovely , clean & cosy and great atmosphere. The staff were also great - very sociable & friendly. But when it came to the food we were all very disappointed. There isn't really a lot of choice for food compared to other Italians we've visited & then the quality of the food we were extremely disappointed. We got arachini & calamari for starters and the calamari was awful. The lasagne main was ok but very average , the M&S one is actually nicer. None of our party were happy with the food and we wouldn't go back. We are surprised at the amazing food reviews for this place as it wasn't our experience at all.

Went to Marcellos tonight for food with my partner and parents for a relaxed friday night meal out, never having been before we werenât sure what to expect but my partner and father had had their hearts set on a tomahawk steak for a while so we booked Macellos. Firstly we booked last minute for two people and then invited my parents so phoned back to amend the reservation to four people, the member of staff was so friendly when we phoned up to change the reservation. When we got to Marcellos the staff were all so friendly and welcoming, nothing seemed like too much trouble. Then the food came ... starters of new delhi chicken, kuftah tabrizi and persian soufflé ... all I can say is WOW!! blown away!!! I would go back again and again just for the chicken haha ... and then we had the steak (Tomahawk of course ... which with 4 sides was easily enough for four people) and its was unbelievable!!! Sliced and cooked table side by the chef, which is fantastic to watch and then just brilliantly cooked, wonderful flavour, well seasoned ... Fantastic!!! And then ... desserts ... we got a Lemon cheesecake, a Berry cheesecake and the Baklava (again there was a bit of table side serving) and again just absolutely unbelievable... the baklava was my favourite and just blew me away and my dad declared that the Berry cheesecake was now the best cheesecake heâd ever eaten (a record that had not been broken for 40 years!!!). So all in all ... friendly, attentive staff (even to the extent of asking if we wanted to take the bone home to give the left over steak to our dogs ... which they thoroughly enjoyed!!), lovely environment and fabulous food. For me this is the first restaurant in a very long time that I havenât left feeling disappointed, so thank you for a wonderful evening Marcellos!!!!!

Came here last Friday evening with a friend. Galleria is such a lovely place, atmosphere, friendliness and professionalism of staff. The chef(s) work wonders. I had the scallops with black pudding and the presentation was lovely, the best scallops I've ever tasted. I followed this with the double braised lamb which was so tender. It was served with vegetables and mashed potatoes, all of which were divine. The lemon posset was also gorgeous to finish. Looking forward to visiting again as soon as possible.

Bringing humble, bistro food to Prescot, from the team behind Sticky Walnut, Burnt Truffle, Hispi & Wreckfish
Visited on 26th October Saturday night 6pm, was sat downstairs near window, (very cold kept my coat on, as there was a draft which was quite uncomfortable, we did ask to be moved but this seemed like too much effort) I think it would be a good idea to frost the windows out, as I had a view of a rubbish bag from the next door building and all the smokers from the restaurant going outside for a cigarette. Our waitress was polite however she was ill and coughing all night, I do feel strongly that front of house staff should be sent home when Iâll rather than sharing their illness with paying clientele. Food was only average we had bread and olives to share, soup and pigs head for starters one drink each and fish chips and peas and beef (Luke warm) and chips in a beetroot sauce, the cost of the bill was £66 ( was this expensive, was this just right or was this over priced for the whole dining experience ?)Staff need more training, no real understanding of what qualities are needed when dealing with paying customers, we needed to ask for condiments as these were not offered, and the overall attentiveness and enthusiasm of the staff was quite flat leaving the whole experience lacking. We bought into the whole ethos of the restaurant and the story behind opening up in Prescot, however I feel disappointed and not motivated to give the place a second chance as there are many more eating out options that offer better food and dining experience for my hard earned cash.
