The Hampton Inn Kingston is conveniently located midway between New York City and the state Capitol in Albany, NY just minutes from I-87, NYS Thruway. It sits at the foothills of the beautiful Catskills Mountains and in the Historic Hudson River Valley. It is centrally located in the area's largest shopping district and just minutes from the Historic Kingston Waterfront where the area's finest dining establishments can be found. Kingston was the first capital of New York State. Much of the history is reflected in the Uptown Stockade District. Ideally situated in the Hudson Valley to accommodate guests in town on business or pleasure. Whether you are visiting the famous town of Woodstock, the historic mansions such as the Roosevelt Estate and Vanderbilt Mansion in Mountain and Bellayre Mountain or attending a Horse Show in the Sun, The Hampton Inn will provide a warm familiar place to rest and relax.
I have stayed here many times over the last 8 yrs with two college students attending nearby. Rooms are always clean, they have been updating as needed and staff is always welcoming and friendly. Breakfast room is spacious and breakfast includes many hot/cold options. I hope to return.

Too expensive for the accommodations. Not super bright or new, dark & gloomy. Smell of chlorine throughout. Noisy staff in halls and on radios, odd at times. Not a hotel that should charge $250 a night.

Staff friendly and accommodating. Room clean and comfortable. Glad I wasn't in a hurry, as it took an hour to complete breakfast. Bistro was evidently short-staffed with only one employee trying to run the front and kitchen. Self-serve coffee ran empty. When food finally arrived, it was luke warm and no condiments offered (salt & pepper only at the counter). Several potential customers left before being serviced. Did not live up to the breakfast advertised in the room flyer.

Our complimentary continental breakfast is served daily from 600am - 900am and consists of regular & decaf coffee and tea, apple and orange juice, two kinds of cereal with 2% milk and an assortment of danish, muffins, and donuts as well as white and wheat bread for toasting. All rooms have free cable TV, a chest of drawers, a clothing rack, either a king bed or two full-size beds, a desk and chair, night stands and lamps, a vanity sink and private bath/shower. We do offer free Wi-Fi on an unsecure network in public areas and our guest rooms. We have a guest laundry (washer and dryer) and a vending area with soft drinks and snacks. We are fortunate to have a variety of dining options within close proximity to our property. We have 24 hour diners, chain restaurants, ethnic and specialty restaurants (Italian, French, Southwestern, Indian, steak, seafood, etc.) as well as places that deliver. We are located 35 miles from Bellearye Mountain and are close to a wide variety of hiking trails, wineries and historic venues.
Very nice property, great staff. Room was pretty decent. Very comfortable. Temperature could be adjusted very quickly. Massive jug of ice water in the lobby was a great touch. Nothing better than ice cold water. My only complaint was the room smelled a little “damp” Other than that everything was great.

We stayed in the Pearl St. location - utterly charming. We'd booked a "deluxe King" but they couldn't accommodate us at the main building when we arrived, so they upgraded us to a larger room on Pearl St. Wow! The building is stunning, with a large lounge decorated in jewel tone velvets and mid century modern furniture. The room had the same vibe. Vintage furniture, bold colours, fabulous art on the walls - stunning marble bathroom with quality fixutres (beautiful brass faucets and towel bars). Everything is well thought out. Wonderful restaurant at the main building with lovely indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Menu is great - including really fantastic non alcoholic cocktails, if you are into that. Outstanding food on the menu as well. Can't say enough about how great this property is. We'll be back!

I don't like writing poor reviews because I know there are staff who are trying their best sometimes in less than ideal circumstances. We had a one-night stay planned for this hotel and chose it based on location along our route (road trip). I was disappointed to realize that many of the negative reviews previously posted were accurate in our case. We were upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite on arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. Destiny, who was working the front desk, was very pleasant. To our surprise, the pool was open (despite the website indicating it was closed, and prior reviews also stating it had been closed for a long time). However reservations are required and guest key card access did not work. The hot tub is still closed. For a relatively new property, the guest room was in poor shape. Housekeeping was not good, I will leave it at that. We ended up working it out with Destiny at the front desk. Additionally, the hotel seems to have had previous and ongoing plumbing issues which have caused damage to some rooms. Our room had clearly been repaired following plumbing issues but there were definite signs. A lot of things about the hotel just seemed off compared to a typical Residence Inn experience. Primary issue was the state of the room we were assigned (and credit to Destiny for helping to rectify). Morning staff interactions were not overly pleasant. The breakfast was definitely below average for Residence Inn. Would not return to this property when back in the area. It's located across from a Target and some other big box stores, and near many restaurants. It still looks new from the outside and I don't know what's gone wrong here... but we were disappointed. I'd give it less than 3 stars but I appreciate the help we did receive from Destiny at the front desk.

Front desk guy wasn't wear a mask. Coffee maker wasn't cleaned from the previous guest. Bathroom wasn't clean either. No breakfast included even the website listed as there is. The front desk lady was kind a rude. This place needs a major update on facilities and people who work there. I won't stay again.

This motel cost us around $100. The room looks like it needs painting, the bathroom had a broken towel rack, only 1 face cloth and 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels. 1 plastic drinking cup. It did have a working fridge and microwave. Thankfully. The bed was reasonably comfortable however the room was very noisy, the people surrounding us were banging on the wall at 6:00 a.m. it was awful. We stayed in room 240. The property itself looks run down.
