Things to do in Rach Gia
Unpretentious restaurant with quality vietnamese foods at a reasonable price, opened for breakfast and lunch only. The place is clean and the service efficient. We had the shrimps in tamarind sauce, the fish in clay pot, steamed rice in bowls and the fish patties with vegetable soup. The food is fresh and tasty, it's just too bad that they were closed for diner
Came to Rach Gia for a business trip and this is a first for me. We arrived very early in the morning and was starving....there is only one flight in and one flight out from HCM a day.Our business partner brought us here for some breakfast. It is a very interesting building. It sits along a roundabout and most of what is around in the vicinity is relatively new. There is still a lot of flat land around yet to see any buildings. The building itself is very modern and frankly quite impressive considering where it is. We were overwhelmed with service staff. Bearing in mind labour is very cheap in this country. We asked our Vietnamese business partner to do the ordering as we had absolutely no idea. There wasn't a lot to explain in the way of English. What came out was a whole bunch of different types of Pho from different regions of Vietnam. The flavours were fine as we were starving. Photos will explain everything. There is a decent menu here.
Having eaten in a great many restaurants over the course of a 3-week tour, we decided we'd go for a "good" one regardless of price in Rach Gia, where we were on an overnight stopover, taking the ferry to Phu Quoc the next day. This restaurant was recommended by the staff in our hotel, and indeed we were encouraged to see some smart cars pull up. However, we thought this place was no more than average (my wife is Vietnamese and knows VN cuisine well). In the end we had to eat simply even though we would really have liked to have pushed the boat out a little. We found the prices very reasonable. As 564RolandD564 says, the area is noisy with Karaoke blaring out all around. Again, as he says, the service was (too) casual. This restaurant is open-air â roofed but not enclosed by walls â and it was hot and sticky. Not very comfortable for dining - there were no cooling fans and, being outside, there was of course no air-con. No wifi either. But is there any better in Rach Gia?
Lava is the first place come to our mind when we want to have some bbq.Food is so good and we have a big menu to choose, from bbq to hotpot, from noodles to rice. Their specialties are beef w many sauces to rub on. And fried rice is excellent too.In my opinion, this place is the most professional here. Their staffs are so friendly, serve you like their old friends. Food is served very quickly. Nice menu w images and sub name in English.Believe me, Itâs worth you a visit.

Our family had organised a large family & friends gathering in Rach Gia with more than 50 people - this place catered for us with no problems. Pros: centrally located with a good selection of good options. I recommend ordering the suckling baby pig for a group. Good variety of traditional Vietnamese salads also. Staff were friendly and tentative. Cons: the restaurant was very busy over the weekend and became chaotic at times.
Vietnamese restaurant serving fresh live seafood and all type of exotic escargots and delicacies.
We were on a 6 week cycle tour through Vietnam and Cambodia. We arrived here hungry, but early - maybe around 5pm. We had not had much for lunch and wanted to eat early after a long ride. The first restaurant we chose and were dripped of at was pretty much closed, so we walked along the main waterfront road and found this place. Most of the staff appeared to be having a shared meal, but we were encouraged in and had a really nice meal - basically squid and lamb on the BBQ and a big salad. It was really nice food and service was excellent, with our waiter doing some very attentive coming for us. Very impressed!

This place is frequented by 99% local people and was very busy when we were there. It was full of families and young couples and is all outside. The menu is fairly large with an English version available although some of the translations were odd such as " portrait of pigs" and a "fish misdemeanour". We ordered 3 beers and were given a full crate and a bucket of ice. When you finish they see what is left and Bill you accordingly. The total bill for 4 people including 13 bottles Tiger was ridiculously cheap. We then had street karaoke, and dancing on the pavement which was fun. The locals chatted to us and we were the only westerners in sight. If you are in Rach Gia it's a good night out to eat or drink here.
