Reviews on Cafe food in Windhoek, Khomas Region, Namibia. Many visitors to Namibia start their adventure in Windhoek, the capital and largest city of this South African country. Nama, Herero, German, Afrikaans, and British cultures have influenced the growth and development of Windhoek. Visit the statue of Hosea Kutako, a nationalist hero, in the gardens surrounding the Tintenpalast, the seat of the Namibian legislature, or chow down on ostrich kebab or zebra steak at Joe’s Beerhouse before leaving on a safari into the Namibian wilderness.

Quick and easy breakfast. Great eggs benedict (depiste being smoked ham and not parma ham as per the menu) and fabulous coffee. Awesome that they are open so early, makes planning your day easier and means you can charge up before heading into the day. Also a huge plus, is as a smoker you are not shunned! Thanks guys. The service was a bit slow the morning we were there and I wasn't sure if that was because we were some of the first people there or if this was normal

Visit us for our Namibian cuisine with a German twist, the best steak in town, the coldest beer (own brewery kraft beers) & the friendliest service.
We visited with a group of 14 kiwis after 24 days on the road. Wow, great service, great buffet dinner. The chef cooked us a sample of game meats to share and explained how each was different. Our Waitress was great, very attentive with a great sense of Humour to go with it. We got a tour of the brewery, shown the butchery by the owners. Awesome!!Thanks to Roof of Africa restaurant for a great night. Thank you too for being such great guests! We loved happy customers! The happy vibes spread naturally! Welcome back soon!

Old School Mostly German Local Food Cafe And Bakery
Had coffee and scrambled egg and bacon which were well cooked. Brown toast but a cheap version so mediocre. Coffee - latte - was good. Service great, waitress lovely personality

I visit Bonsai Bistro every morning for the best coffee in town. The food is also amazing I normally eat the gourmet sandwiches or omelettes .The staff is always friendly and serve you with a smile. What is also a big plus is that one can interact with the owner and chef, Elzaan. She can explain you how your food is made and where its coming from, most ingredients are sourced locally. Elzaan can also help you with special dietary requirements. I can recommend everyone to visit Bonsai Bistro.

We visited Maerua Spar coffee shop at several occasions because we love to shop at Spar - but each time we had to almost beg a waitron to serve us. This was terrible and we will never go back there - we rather shop at The Grove Mall of Namibia's Spar, where the waitrons are actually willing to serve us.Hi MichelleThank you for your review. We are working on our service and I am sure it will improve.

We visited here for drinks and/or food several times at the start and end of our holiday in Namibia. The cafe is in a busy part of the city and it is interesting to watch all that is going on. There are awnings to protect from the very hot sun, but if you wish to avoid the sun, it is worth checking that your table will stay in the shade during your stay. The food menu is limited but the quality is good. The portions are a little large, but if you wish the staff will happily box up any uneaten food for later. Service is friendly and very helpful. Twice staff contacted taxis for return to our hotel. Worth visiting for the local ambiance

Fantastic quaint little coffee shop. Located in the arcade opposite the court. Initially went in for a tea and coffee but saw another patrons toasted sandwich and decided that we would have one too. Wow! Presentation, portion, quality of ingredients and service was brilliant. Will definitely return when headed back to town during the day.

Enjoy food freshly prepared under large trees
Sadly, I experienced what was quite possibly the worst service that I have ever received in windhoek here. Our waitress could not smile even if she tried, she ignored us and we found her rude. When we tried to order she would walk away. We sat there for 2,5 hours and only had one drink because she never came to take an order for another drink. Another waitress brought our food our to us. The food was below par with the toasted sandwiches being soggy and breaking apart and the salads with "extra avo" looking pathetic to say the least. Eventually after having dirty plates on our table for over half an hour we paid at the front and left. Thank you for your feedback .......... every review is important to us and as I am dissapointed to hear about your bad experience we certainly will do our best to up our service and bring it up to standard again ...........

Back for my quarterly fix of apple crumble. This truly must be the best in Windhoek. Let me rather say best in Namibia. Served with a dollop of ice cream or fresh cream. The filling is overtly generous loaded with lots of fresh apple, raisins just the right amount of crumble crust. The crust is done old school like grandma would do it.
