We've stayed here a few times over the last couple of years, and it never disappoints. The staff are all fantastic, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We brought our 2 dogs, one of which is a rescue we've only had for a few weeks and she's very reactive. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful. They reserved the same table in the restaurant for us everyday as they know we feel comfortable there and the dogs are (mainly!) quiet. The rooms are all superb, decorated to a very high standard and extremely clean. The food is just amazing!! And very reasonable. And the service at meal times is outstanding. All the staff know exactly what they're doing, it's like a well oiled machine. Thank you all for another great week away. Can't wait until our next trip in October.

A warm welcome awaits at this beautiful Lake District country house hotel. This elegant Victorian building stands proudly in four acres of tended gardens and walkways and enjoys views of the surrounding Lake District fells. Close by is the bustling market town of Keswick, with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants. For the adventurous, Lake Derwentwater offers a variety of water sports with numerous walks and mountain bike trails beginning at its shores.
We stayed at the hotel in May 2022. The girl on the desk was very enthusiastic telling us we had been upgraded to a deluxe room. We already knew this. The room was well...... average had a table and chairs in window. The wallpapered ceiling showed glue lines which should have been emulsioned. It was coming off the ceiling by the window and the cornice was crumbling away. Who ever laid the new carpet, it was lumpy. If elderly people tripped over it it was an accident waiting to happen. Ee had to ask for our complimentary bottled water and chocolates. The bar area is lovely, but the staff don't take any pride in cleaning the chairs. They are shocking with stains. God knows what you are sitting on especially when you can take dogs in. Apart from that we can't fault the excellent food. And the staff, who see your needs. Bradley in particular was very good! We did enjoy our stay, and we know the hotel is old. But it's the little things that matter especially when it is expensive.

Staff are really friendly and very helpful. The facilities are amazing, very clean and food is great. We stayed in a land pod with our dog and it was sooo comfortable and they provide you with wood for the fire pit free of charge.

Ravenstone Lodge is a converted 19th Century stables & lodge with many original features including the stables themselves which are now the bar. Situated at the foot of Ullock Pike close to Skiddaw with views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells we are perfectly positioned to explore the Northern Lake District. Ravenstone Lodge is a privately small hotel with just 9 bedrooms and because of this we can provide a uniquely personal service and when you stay with us you are not just a room number but are our guests in the true meaning of the word. Because of this many return time and time again, maybe requesting their favourite room or that a particular dish be put on the menu. Food is very important to us and our philosophy is very simple, top quality locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our resident chef with sufficient choice to satisfy all tastes. We look forward to welcoming you to Ravenstone Lodge. Mike Cornish - Proprietor
This is a real gem of a place, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is divine and their gin is amazing! The rooms are comfortable and clean, with views of the fells. Just wished we'd stayed a bit longer!

We were so disappointed with our stay here in a Junior Suite for several reasons and staff were very unhelpful when they asked for feedback and we gave it. I was told I wasn't allowed to bring my dog to the Junior Suite as dogs aren't allowed in the main hotel area. Despite being told this a couple in the room opposite ours had a dog staying in their room. I paid £544 for my room for 1 night and then an additional kennel fee to house my dog because staff told me I couldn't bring him, only to see other hotel members with their dogs in the rooms near ours. This is so unprofessional and incredibly unfair and caused an additional expense to our stay The room itself was heated to 25C which was so uncomfortable to sleep in and the temperature control fitted on the wall did absolutely nothing to make the room less stuffy There were 3 false fire alarms pulled between 1-1.30am with no explanation from staff the next morning as to why. So understandably we had an awful night's sleep. The cooked breakfast the next morning was good but again the restaurant was so stuffy! We were also baffled why we couldn't have Cappuchino/Latte with breakfast as apparently the machine isnt turned on until evening service. Considering the price of the rooms in the hotel it seems a bit cheap of you not to offer a nice brew in the morning.

Amazing weekend at Keswick YHA for the Keswick Beer Festival. The staff were extremely helpful, the location was ideal (room over looking the beautiful river!), the bar was spot on and the room was perfect. The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate. No complaints and all, and would completely recommend.

The Pheasant, Bassenthwaite Lake offers the warmest of Cumbrian welcomes in a tradition that has stood the test of time for more than two centuries. Originally a Lakeland staging post and coaching inn, The Pheasant is a unique place that combines outstanding hospitality and local character in a simply breathtaking setting. Enjoy free on-site parking, spectacular views and a fabulous outdoor terrace. Dogs are very welcome in designated areas within our bar and our pet-friendly rooms.
Looked forward to visiting after reading the menu online. The food sounded quite above the average pub offerings with choices like Seanad and seafood linguine. The pub itself was lovely inside, very cosy and welcoming. The staff were also friendly. Unfortunately, the food we ordered wasn’t as good as we had hoped. The linguine with clams, chilli and fresh herbs had little to no taste. The sea bass dish was also lacking. There was just one dish which was good which was the sausage, mash and greens. That was really delicious. I doubt that we would visit again if in the area, if we did it would just be for drinks , definitely not for food, which was also quite overpriced for the quality and flavour.
