Things to do in Kerrville

While power shopping in Kerrville one day the wife and I found this shop on Trip Advisor. The doughnuts were fresh and varied and the service was great! In talking to the cashier we found out they had been in business 21 years. I partook of the old fashioned cinnamon glazed and the wife had a lemon filled, both with a coffee. The store hours are 5 am to 1 pm so don't be late!

Came to the area for my birthday weekend. For lunch we went to #1 TripAdvisor choice in Fredericksburg. For dinner we chose the #1 choice in Kerrville.
First impression was marvelous and after being seated outside that wasn’t diminished one bit. The lights in the trees only added to the atmosphere. Service was nice too.
Food was good but not “fine dining” and was the reason for my 4 stars.
Nothing to complain about and we were so pleased with the place and the people that I would still recommend.

1011 Bistro, located right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, has the most spectacular view of the Guadalupe River. You will find something in our menu for a special occasion, family gathering or just kicking back in our upstairs terrace. Our friendly staff will make your visit a special one. We're also open for lunch!
The food, the service, and the atmosphere were absolutely fantastic! My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary by dining at 1011 Bistro in Kerrville, TX. For an appetizer we enjoyed Mozzarella Burrata (baby san marzano tomatoes with balsamic reduction, extra virgin olive oil, basil salt, and toasted baguettes). For the main course we feasted on the Lamb Rack (New Zealand lamb, minted yogurt sauce, parmesan risotto cakes, and grilled tomatoes) and Seafood Pasta (hand-rolled fettuccini, crab meat, gulf shrimp, mussels, garlic cream sauce). Our server Scott was awesome! He was extremely polite and took great care of us! We hope to go back again soon!

First thing you need to know - THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS HERE! Bring cash or a Debit Card. That's why they get four 'stars' and not five. It is 2017. Give me a break. Take credit cards and charge people 3% more for the food if you must. I mean...seriously; if a place is going to hit you up for $10 to give you a burger, fries and a coke, they can 'afford' to take credit cards.
Okay, that out of the way, the french fries here are awesome! I love them. They are now my favorite fries. Crunchy on the outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. Perfect.
The burgers are thick and juicy and made from 'real' meat you can actually taste, so that is a winner, too. My Mom raved about the burgers. She LOVED them. I liked them well enough. So if you are 'old school', perhaps you will LOVE them, too.

Our first ever visit to Billy Gene's this Sunday afternoon was a pleasant surprise. Not only was my peppered steak, grilled vegetables and pasta salad excellent, my wife said her serratchi checken, okra and potato was too. To top it off, I looked up to see a familiar face walk in the front door. Oscar nominee ("Sideways") Thomas Haden Church and his girlfriend (they are regulars according to the servers) enjoyed a meal. He was very kind and even took the time to chat and give me an autograph while he waited for his girlfriend in the restroom.

"..a gem of a restaurant off the city’s main street. It has a wine store, a large bar with about 20 (craft)beers on tap, and a restaurant, where you can eat(locally sourced) antelope sliders or quail tacos.” –Texas Monthly
If you are looking for a patio and quiet, I recommend this place. The menu is eclectic and delicious! We tried the fish and pork tacos, both did not disappoint. The creamed jalapeño corn was also delicious. Our waiter Travis was attentive and very personable! He was even able to help us plan a hike and where to find the starting point for a local bike ride. Would definitely eat here again. Oh and the beer selection was fabulous and in Kerrville you can get it to go as sidewalk drinking is ok!

Very popular comfort food restaurant. The brisket tamales are to die for. Bring your appetite as the servings are large.

I'd only eaten two Korean-style dishes in my life -- of them from a food truck -- so was anticipating some new tastes when my husband and I went here for dinner on our last of four nights in Kerrville. We shared a noodles-with-vegetables appetizer. My husband had a stone bowl with extra chicken and I had fried rice. Everything was served appropriately cold (or ho,) tasted great and was generously portioned. The personable chef came out to check on our meal. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, and really cared about doing a great job. The restaurant has an unfussy modern decor and is located inside one of the historic buildings -- sharing space with an antique dealer and realtor. A few tables are available for outdoor seating.

We brought a well-traveled couple from Austin to visit us in Kerrville and took them to Francisco's for dinner. We ate the oyster nachos, the veracruzana nachos, steak tampiquena, the red snapper oachinaga, and the grilled salmon. Everybody loved their plates!! The veracruzana nachos were a HUGE hit with our Austin friends! We ate dessert as well, which was good. Our friends want to eat at Francisco's the next time they come! The service was good, the restaurant was clean, a very nice atmosphere. We loved looking at the beautiful art. (my apologies if I misspelled any of the names of the dishes)

We were in this area in 2014 and I still remembered how good it was. We had to return. Nothing changed. It's still as good as it was.
There were 8 of us. The food was delicious and the service excellent. I just wish they had more of these restaurants in other places.
I'm not sure what else to say other than it's our favorite Mexican restaurant ever!
