Zains was once super famous (and still is, I guess) for authentic taste of Kozhikode, especially snacks. It used to be our favorite hangout place during Ramadan evenings. It took me by surprise, when we visited this place recently, after few years gap. The prices were so high and the quality / taste of food were significantly deteriorated. A kallummakkaya (mussel) fry costed us Rs.30 which is available for half of the price in nearby restaurants. You can imagine how they have priced the other items. Now they are using cheap labors for cooking, who really aren't skilled nor have any idea about how to achieve the 'real taste of Kozhikode'In a nutshell, Zains, once famous for its authentic taste, had lost its charm. Kozhikode now have so many restaurants which provide cheaper and tastier food than them.

I have been a regular customer for the last few years. Unfortunately now a days i feel pathetic customer service at Topform Mavoor road calicut. Attitude of the waiter is very rude. Overall worst service with over priced comparing with other hotels in city, like Rahmath and Paragon etc.

This eatery too at Kozhikode has great food especially the fish dishes which are so delicious and praiseworthy . Easy on the purse too. Old house converted to restaurant and has a charm about it.

Possessing the most exceptional and premium cuisine, Mezban has gained the reputation among the foodies as one of the âbest try dining experiencesâ of a lifetime. It provides superior quality service and an extensive menu which includes traditional Malaba
Mezban restaurant co-located with Hotel Asma Towers on Mavoor road, in the heart of kozhikode city. The first look inside revealed a beautiful decor, all in white, giving the place a very soothing effect. Soon a menu card (book) was placed in our hands, and immediately the doubts started. The repast offered was vast and varied, thus making it difficult to decide what to dine on.However we settled on 'Adu Soup', a dish of 'Mutton Pepper Masala' and chapati to go with. The 'Adu Soup' (mutton soup) was served in a soup dish, which rather pleased us, (as we preferred to eat soup rather than slurp it). The consistency was correct, and the taste perfect. Mutton Pepper Masala had crushed pepper corns in the nicely blended gravy giving the dish a unique texture and taste; the mutton was tender, suggesting that it has been properly marinated and cooked.I highly recommend this restaurant and suggest that it should not be missed if one is in Kozhikode.

The M-grill restaurant serves a variety of starters, soups, salads, grills, oriental items, breads, Arabian dishes, seafood items, shakes etc. I had dinner from the restaurant with few friends from Calicut and the dining experience was really great. The restaurant is having good decor, perfect furnishing and the overall ambiance is really good. We ordered tawa grilled prawns, spicy grilled chicken, Greek veg salad, French chicken soup, shish kebab, kofta kebab, Thai red chicken curry, koonthal varattiyathu, grilled steaks, roti's etc, the food was really awesome and the chefs seem to be real professionals. The waiters are very polite and extended excellent service. The restaurant seems to be one of the best in the town and is ideal for dining with family or guests.

By far the best restaurant possible in kerala.... Wait India! Amazing food with insane consistency. Try the fish mango curry with kerala paratha and u won't look back! Beware of long queues during weekends. To finish off ask for tender coconut pudding. A visit to calicut is never complete without a visit to Paragon restaurant!
