We stayed here one night for a basketball tournament. Rooms are simple, but clean and nice. I actually preferred the simplicity! I loved the hardwood floors instead of carpeting and the shower with glass door instead of a tub and a gross shower curtain. Lobby was a nice place for the boys to hang out. Appreciated the late check out, too. Lots of restaurants and shopping within a few minutes drive. Hotel surrounded by some empty lots which is a little bit of an eyesore, but not enough to not recommend it. Would definitely stay there again!

I arrived at the hotel early and hoped Cassie would let me check in early. I stayed the night before in a horrible hotel and it was too dirty to take a shower. Cassie heard my story and was able to get me into a room several hours before check in and even said her take a couple of bottles of water and relax. We are going to take good care of you and she did. Thank you for making my stressful two days in Grand Rapids a great place to lay my head and relax. The rooms were very clean and everything was excellent.

Newer residence inn about a ten minute drive from the airport. Very quiet the Saturday night we stayed here in February. Room was in top shape and everything seemed clean. Nice that they have two elevators instead of one and the elevators are a good size. Hotel is off 28th Street but pretty far back behind a couple of businesses, so you don’t get any traffic noise. Look for the car max or Value City furniture for the turn in. You kind of wind your way back and you will eventually see it. There a traffic light at the Value City furniture, which makes making a left (direction of airport and freeway) onto busy 28th street so much easier. Hotel check in was friendly. Overall, a good stay and would return if I need to stay overnight in Grand Rapids again.

I stayed at this hotel May 9th on short notice due to a flight cancellation. I was sent to room 304 though the place was pretty empty. Across the street there was a facility with a recording that went off periodically to warn people that they were trespassers, surveillance cameras were active, they'd been video, and they should leave. This seemed to happen every time a car went by and kept me awake for hours. My gripe about this is that the hotel staff OBVIOUSLY would know about this situation, and EQUALLY OBVIOUSLY, not being very busy, ought to have given me a room as situated as much as possible to avoid the problem. Otherwise, location = nothing special, staff = ditto, breakfast = ditto.

The desk staff is rude and uncooperative. The hotel is shabby and not shabby chic. The carpets are dirty abs grimy. The staff is unwelcoming and argumentative, with warning signs posted all over lobby. The hotel rooms are noisy and are old and worn out. We asked for a different room and hotel manager refused stating no rooms were available but checking with IHG had availability…. Staff lied. Hotel double charged us too, refused to refund the error.

My spouse and I live only about 3 miles away from this hotel and were forced to spend a night here in December 2021 after a windstorm knocked out our power for a lengthy period of time. We drive by this hotel often, and I thought it was kinda fun to stay here and see what the interior was like. The circumstances that required us to stay here were not fun, but overall, we were fairly pleased with the hotel. We checked in sometime around 6:30 or 7 p.m. on a Thursday night. Our check-in process went relatively smoothly, and we used my husband's IHG reward points for our stay. Our room (#254) was clean and comfortable... no problems there. After we got settled into the hotel, we had a tasty dinner and a couple of alcoholic beverages at the bar. Kind of expensive, but whatever. This hotel has an indoor pool and fitness center... neither of which we used. Unfortunately, the indoor pool did not have a hot tub which we would have enjoyed. I can't speak to the breakfast options because we ended up eating breakfast elsewhere. One thing I was sort of disappointed about was the fact that this hotel did not have a business center with computers for guests to use. I would have appreciated a business center to surf the Internet, but one was not available. The only other thing I have to say about this hotel is that the bathroom setup in our room was a bit unusual... no problems with it; it was just different. The shower is in a tucked-away corner in the bathroom with no curtain or anything. I didn't have a problem with it; it was just interesting and different. Hopefully we won't have any other significant power outages that will require us to stay at a local hotel, but if it does happens again, we would have no qualms about staying here again.

Despite numerous follow up calls/contacts with this hotel, they lost our group reservation. They admittedly overbooked, stating they're not required to hold rooms. While all parties ended up with a room, it took hours for some. There were no apologies or assistance in potentially getting booked at another hotel. The rooms were in horrible condition: mold on the ceilings, insecure door handles, and a smell that required us to spray the room down with Odo-ban, and leave for several hours, just to tolerate. While breakfast was offered, there were no cups provided for coffee, no bowls offered for oatmeal. The safety of the hotel was minimal, with the entry for the back entrance stating it is locked 24 hours/requires key card, was never locked. exposed electrical box and mold above this door. No day service for cleaning, which was fine; however, towels were not provided until requested. A stack of towels handed to us from the cleaner came from a bin filled with dirty bedding. The staff seemed kind, it is apparently all lip service. The lady that runs the front desk seems very kind. Another employee, dressed very unprofessionally, made it apparent any request put her out, from a request for towels or a CLEAN room. We learned this is not in a safe neighborhood &police are called to the location often.Show less

Stayed here while searching for a house. We spent over two months here due to the intense market. The building itself is clean, the rooms with kitchens are pleasant, the pond has frogs and ducks making it very nice to sit and relax in the evening, and the people who work here are exceptionally thoughtful and nice. All the folks here were great, but I want to especially shout out of thanks to Kieara.
