Received a suggested to go and have a hot brown. It lived up to every description. Sat at the bar and enjoyed ambiance and a very tasty sandwich. Looked good and tasted better, Looks like a heavy mean, but surprisingly not. The hot brown is a must try.

Great little place for home cooking.. great catfish with perfect breading. Husband has meatloaf and loved. Corn pudding too sweet for me, but others liked it. Try the bread pudding.. I would like more bourbon in it but it does taste homemade.

A few miles south of I-64. Well worth a lunch break.A grilled iceberg lettuce wedge with bacon, onion and tomato (hold the tomato please) is becoming a real favorite of mine. Donât see it much. All three of us had the same thing. We all loved it.We ordered some onion rings just to counter balance the healthy salads. And this is where the Goose hit it out of the park. Iâm no expert regarding onion rings but these were without a doubt the best Iâve ever had. Period.Nice wine list and service was excellent. We eat outside.Would I return to the Goose & Gander? Most definitely and I will order the exact same thing.

A modern rustic thoroughbred bourbon restaurant. We feature fresh seafood, hand cut certified angus beef, custom sandwiches and salads. Also sell hard to find bourbons.
After touring a couple of horse farms, we stopped here for lunch on our way back to Frankfort. We had pre-ordered lunches because of a tight time line and the food was ready in five minutes. I had the Salmon BLT and it was the best meal in a week on the Bourbon Trail. The town center is worth a walk-around.The service was pleasant and attentive, I recommend this place highly. All in our group of eight REALLY enjoyed their meal.

While in the Frankfort area, I checked on-line for some dining choices and came across the town of Midway and the number of unique restaurants there. On this Monday evening, we selected Darlin Jeanâs because it sounded interesting and because several others were closed. The restaurant wasnât crowded and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive but relatively new. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer; for dinner I ordered DJâs Hot Brown and my wife had a patty melt. The Brown originated at the Brown Hotel in Louisville many years ago and is a takeoff on Welsh rarebit. Itâs an open face sandwich with turkey and ham and covered with cheese and baked. DJâs incarnation included buttermilk bread, tomato, bacon, and cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. This is the first time Iâve had a brown so I have no basis for comparison, but I found it very good. DJâs had ample cheese which was hot and gooey after baking. When our entrées arrived, we realized that we hadnât gotten the dip we ordered as an appetizer. The waitress was very apologetic. Since we already had our entrées, we had the waitress to cancel the dip order. She offered desserts on the house for mishandling appetizer our order.I enjoyed my Brown and my wife liked her patty melt. Midway is a neat little town near Frankfort with some surprisingly good restaurants. If youâre in the area, go out of your way to go to Midway and give Darlin Jeanâs a try, I donât think youâll be disappointed.

We are open Wednesday-Saturday for dinner, and Saturday and Sunday for our Traditional Kentucky Brunch. Fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farmers are at the heart of Chef Ouita Michel's menus at Holly Hill Inn, a fine-dining restaurant in America's B
Had a birthday celebration here last Sunday for a special life-long friend. The setting was beautiful in this historic house nestled in a side street neighborhood in "downtown" Midway. Table setting was so elegant and neat. Sunday brunch is served until 2 pm. Lots of great choices (from breakfast fare to chicken salad -- almost a farm to table type menu), but the meringue shell dessert with banana cream, blueberries and carmel drizzle is to die for! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our unhurried brunch and would highly recommend Holly Hill Inn for the good food and fabulous setting.

It's hard to find a soothing palette of beige and cream, much less one whose walls are adorned with whimsical, painting-size "cutouts"; whose backlit bar is simultaneously sleek, warm and inviting; and whose food doesn't allow the design to do all the wor
Impressive service, Romantic lighting, and an even more impressive meal with crafted cocktails (try the seasonal tequila, grapefruit, jalapeño concoction). We started with a generous Caesar Salad and one of the best Crab Cakes (also generous in size) I have ever eaten. My husband and I both had the filet (cooked to the perfect requested temps) which I took some home to save room for dessert and I will tell you it was tender like butter warm or cold in addition to loaded with grass fed flavor! For the money the filet portion was larger than you normally see in fine dining...kudos to Heirloom! It was served with fresh large, but tender, asparagus spears. To finish out our meal with a sweet we opted to try a homemade Buttermilk Peach Ice Cream and a Chocolate Molten Cake served warm with Toasted Marshmallow, a caramelized banana, and homemade Peanut Butter Ice Cream. We were very happy we booked this amazing restaurant in this quaint town with a rail road track rolling through its Main Street. We hope to be back soon and highly recommend this local gem!
