We were a little worried about cigarette smoke as one review noticed cigarette smoke. I asked for a no-smoking section. We were seated there for more than an hour and not once was there a whiff of cigarette smoke. Our server was superb and I could kick myself for not remembering her name but it was 6 days ago and lots hapened since.A husband and wife team of teachers put on a Trivia Contest and it was a lot of fun. Being Canadians, we didn't do to well on U.S. Politicians but we were the only ones to identify the Province of Québec. You will enjoy Chasers1

Wow - what an absolute fluke to have stumbled across this local favorite and where many of the TV personalities from the Moonshiners have eaten at. Food is nothing more than great southern diner style food. We were still amazed that there was a smoking and non smoking section in 2018...but the nostalgic decor definitely suited the environment along with the patrons dining here. I look forward to a return visit in the very near future

Serving premium, farm-to-table fare without the pretense, Star Hill Provisions® is located on the campus of Maker's Mark Distillery in the beautifully renovated Distiller's House. The menu offered at our acclaimed restaurant changes seasonally and feature
My step-daughter gave her dad and I reservations for one of the community dinners at Maker's Mark. The dinner included an optional tour prior to the dinner. Maker's Mark is in a beautiful, rural setting and we had the additional benefit of seeing an instillation of glass work from the recently deceased artist, Stephen Powell. The setting set the stage for a memorable experience. Prior to the event, I contacted the restaurant with dietary restrictions. We got an email response that this was passed on to the chef and it would not be a problem. The entire staff was very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Our restrictions were readily accommodated. The chef and staff made a point to let us know this was not a problem. No menu was available in advance because the chef and staff wanted to shop for freshest local ingredients and purchase what looked great. This was evident in the preparation. The meal included four bourbon cocktails, which were each made with a different Maker's Mark selection. They were all interesting and well concocted. The food was incredibly fresh and well-prepared. The appetizer salad (tomato and watermelon) was not perfect (little too much dressing) but still interesting and fresh. The entrée of chicken thighs, savory bread pudding and fresh sweet corn was incredible and the dessert was even better. I would highly recommend this community dinner experience, which at $100 per person, including cocktails and tip, was a good value. The dinner conversation included a Nashville guitarist who traveled extensively over the years with various artists, as well as visitors from Chicago. It was an interesting and lively conversation in addition to great food. Everything you could want for a beautiful evening out! Even more fun for the bourbon enthusiast.

The drive thru here is basically used as a suggestion speaker. Sometimes you will get what you order and sometimes you will get whatever they want you to have. However, one this is for sure and that is you'll always pay for what you order. Just check your bag before you drive off as more times than not, your order will be incorrect.

Mordecai's has a pleasant atmosphere befitting its small town downtown setting. Nothing stood out as amazingly good, but everything was solidly decent. It's worth a stop.
