We actually had an above average dinner here, considerably better than many non-chain places we visited during our nearly 10 day road trip. I had the basic grilled chicken breast with steamed broccoli and I really must say, the one here was just as good as the one in Ballwin, Missouri, which means it was actually really good, better than what you would likely pay way more for at most other restaurants. Although really basic, the grilled chicken breast was juicy, tasty, perfectly cooked, a nice portion and just overall a better serving of chicken than you would get at all but the most fancy and expensive restaurants. It was really good. And the broccoli was likewise considerably above average--I don't know who their supplier is, but the broccoli was simply really really good and that means it was really fresh. I recently had broccoli from a local supermarket here in St. Louis and the Applebee's broccoli was way better. The broccoli here was better than at most restaurants charging twice as much. Decor wise this was your typical Applebee's so atmosphere is average. But the service was friendly and efficient and better than at many non-chain places. We really enjoyed our meal here and even though I didn't have any, I couldn't help but notice the amazingly low beer prices so value is really strong here, especially on adult beverages. So, I'm giving this 4 well deserved stars.

Hometown restaurant favorite with casual dine-in, carry out and drive-thru service. Fresh, cooked-to-order menu includes the famous Big Boy Sandwich, hand-breaded onion rings, family dinners, extensive breakfast bar, homemade soups, desserts and breakfast
My wife and I enjoy Frisch's restaurants, but this one is consistently the best in the region. It's actually the best one we've eat at anywhere. The food is always well prepared and delicious. The staff here are outstanding. They are always friendly and helpful. They check on us just enough without intruding. Doug, the manager, was telling us about a new dish on the breakfast bar and even went and got us a bowl to try. We are always treated like friends when we are there! It's also one of the cleanest restaurants we've ever been in. We'll be back the next time we go through Winchester!

My wife, grandson and I visited Blue Isle for the first time last week. Although the restaurant has been in Winchester for years, it has a new location in the Winchester Country Club. We had heard rave reviews from friends about the home style food and ample portions and those reviews were spot on. Our entrees were the fried chicken (outstanding), fried pork chop and fried shrimp and all were huge portions and perfectly prepared. The sides were good as well. We also got a combo platter which, had I known how large the portions were, I would have skipped but it was very tasty as well and could easily have fed 6. Our waiter was Quandre and he was very attentive and professional. So why not 5 stars? Iâm glad you asked. My wife ask for a wine list. You would think a restaurant at a country club with what appeared to be a full bar would have a decent wine selection. Nope - they offered 3 red house wines, Merlot, Cabernet and a blend, all from one vintner. And then it was served chilled - Egad! My wife said it ran a poor second to Black Box. So I would recommend that the restaurant people and the country club people go visit other club restaurants like Greenbrier and take some notes. In summary, if you love traditional southern cooking with massive portions, loosen your belt, schedule your heart cath, bring your own wine and try Blue Isle. We will return!

This place is a jewel. We have driven past it for years, but last night we tried it for dinner. What a treat! The service was great and courteous. We had the buffet and every bite was delicious. This place was packed busy but the staff was cool and helpful. We will definitely go back...

I have been to the former Graze location many times but this was my first visit to the new Limestone location. Like the previous digs, it is an intimate setting with just a few tables but they have added a bar for those waiting for a table. We ordered the salad and pork tenderloin, both just perfect. The salad was mixed greens with strawberries and feta cheese. All fresh and the dressing was spot on. The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned and came with mashed potatoes and greens. It is a huge serving of tenderloin.Like the previous Graze, the chefs are steps away and you can watch them preparing your order. So kudos to Graze for getting it right. One suggestion: bring back the delicious coffee you served before.

The Engine House Deli+Pub was opened in June 2015. The location is the site of Winchester's original fire house which is evident in the beautiful arched glass window which acted as the garage where horse-drawn, water tank carriages were pulled in and out.
Feels like an OLD bar, No ambiance, writing on the walls. We went with friends on a Saturday night and the TVs were too loud, the menu is very limited, The pizza is OK. The servers were friendly. The bright spot was they did have some good local craft beers. I would suggest if you go try lunch or treat it like a sports bar.

My Wife and I continued our eating adventures on this Saturday at Halls on the River. A wonderful drive followed by delicious food. It is worth the drive from Lexington or Winchester.I had their ribeye steak with greens and baked potato. Cooked Medium well the Ribeye was very tasty. The greens were more than just greens. It was combined with bacon which made it a tasty addition. My Wife had the fried chicken with Belgian Waffles. She also had sweet potato fries. Again very tasty. Lastly we had their beer cheese. Very tasty! Then the deserts were to overdose on. She had the brownie with ice cream. I had the Chocolate Cheese Cake. This hidden gem is a must. Be safe traveling the country roads to find this wonderful piece of Kentucky!

Visited with friends, place was highly recommended. It was crowded, but we didnât mind to wait, or so we thought. Unfortunately, our server, an older blonde woman, was very sarcastic & downright rude. She took orders for half of our party & ignored the rest until she was asked to take the rest of the orders. Some of us ordered drinks but had to ask 4 times for them, and when she brought them, she sat them down rather hastily, causing a splash. Our food came out in the same manner. Half of us received cold food, one ordered a steak sandwich that was so fatty it couldnât be eaten. The owner offered to replace it, but the offer was declined. Now, for the good stuff ... order the beer cheese. It was by far the most delicious anywhere!

We stopped for a quick dinner. I had the reuben, and my wife had the chicken reuben. Both were excellent, but a little on the small side and included only a pickle spear (probably good for our waistlines). So, the food was 5-star flavor but 4-star overall. The restaurant is a very cute, clean, and well-decorated spot.

Please note that JK's at Forest Grove has new owners as of April 15, 2019. Jami and Luis Rivera are the new owners.
This place has a large selection of burgers, sandwiches - hot and cold. All are great! They also have a nice selection of veggies/sides to make a vegetable plate if you are not in the mood for sandwiches. The service is awesome and I will continue to return regularly.
