Another 'local favorite' We had some yummy food, and was not able to eat it all. The calzones, are huge, but so deliscious. The breading so good, the insides just as I asked. The service was great, she was personable, and polite, and we enjoyed visiting with her. She knew we were not locals and she helped us with figuring out what we wanted to eat. Will go back next time in KY

Good thingâ- food was hot. Bad things. Orders took over 45 minutes to arrive. No discount for the unreasonable wait. Orders were wrong. Asked for coffee. Never got my refill. Wow. Worst experience Iâve ever had here. Itâll be a while before I come back.

The spanikopita was superb, and my friend also enjoyed her macaroni and cheese with Italian Sausage. The sausages were very flavorful. We also ordered dessert - weâd highly recommend the ekmek. Itâs a Greek dessert that our waitress recommended, and it was delicious!

First, be sure to make reservations. It is a quaint house with great atmosphere. We had some drinks, the pickled shrimp deviled egg appetizer and it was great! It has a great mix of flavors. The salad was fresh and good. The sweet potato biscuits were great. My wife had the fried green tomato BLT and sweet potato chips. I had the New York Strip cooked to perfection. Great place. Great service.

This restaurant has ample parking and seating. You can order from the menu, or opt for a buffet. At $11.99 Monday-Thursday, lunch offers outstanding value. The dinner cost increases to $16.10, which is also the cost of the Sunday brunch. On Friday and Saturday nights, prices increase to $19.69. The buffet is run right-- there is a constant turnover of dishes, which guarantees that they will be hot when you begin to eat. There is an adequate (and fresh) salad bar. The brisket and pulled/chopped pork are OK, but the mutton is excellent. The burgoo is thick rather than soupy, and loaded, but badly under seasoned. We brought it to life with pepper and the hot sauce on the table. There is a good range of largely unremarkable sides, but the creamed corn is to be recommended. Finally, there is a nice array of desserts, with a remarkably light and tasty meringue topped banana pudding, and cherry cobbler. In summary, the lunch buffet offers great value.

Six Generations of Quality Bar-B-Que: What's Owensboro's favorite barbecue restaurant? Old Hickory BBQ, according to voters in the Messenger-Inquirer's Readers Choice Award! Thanks to all who voted for us! We specialize in Mutton, Pork, Beef, Chicken, Rib
This place is just average. I have visited numerous BBQ places in the state of KY. Perhaps at another time they were better but I cannot give higher than a 4 rating. I had pork and itâs consistency was like it had already been eaten. Mushy! Coleslaw was fair. Potato salad was very close to mashed potato consistency. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

The service is impeccable. The food is outstanding. The fish dishes we had last night, (wolf and walleye), were exceptional in their flavor. The wines are well chosen. This is simply the best restaurant in Owensboro. The chef and the staff are harmonious. Bravo.

I have visited this restaurant several times, and it is always tasty. I like the way you can order pizza by the slice, which is nice for traveling solo. I had the margherita pizza, which was delicious and vegetarian!

Went there last week for early lunch. Interior so impressiveâbeautiful old woodwork (or looked old), tin ceilings. Easy on-street parking. Looked to be plenty of parking in the beautifully refurbished downtown area. We walked about 2 blocks to the riverside park area which is beautiful. Food excellent. I maybe ordered badlyâopted for skillet-blackened tilapia served on top of a âsummer saladâ which was one of the dayâs specials. I am not typically a âfishâ person, but it was quite good. Husbandâs Cajun shrimp & scallops was delightfulâserved in a yummy creamy sauce. Then we gave in to temptation & shared a Molten chocolate cake served with ice cream. Sinful!!! SO GOOD! Our server, Clay, was wonderfulâanswering all questions & helpful in every way. Food was served very promptly. Canât wait to go back!
