I was a bit leary of going into this Mexican Restaurant as I'm Mexican-American and very picky about my food. I ordered one of my favorite meals, Carne Guisada. It was so delicious! (just like I like it) The tortillas were a wonderful surprise since they were homemade just like mom used to make. I went twice during my stay in Kenedy

Your typical older Dairy Queen, but what makes this one stand out is the quick service when delivering an order.

Can get busy for lunch, and the parking lot can get crowded with work trucks. You may want to visit just before or after lunch rush.

Typical Dairy Queen. Service is very fast. Like most places in Kenedy, can get very crowded for lunch. My only complaint with this location is that the drink dispenser could use a good cleaning.

Partners has awesome BBQ brisket and sausage plates. They also have ribs and chicken, but I've never tried it. Sides are good, sweet tea is good. Parking lot is pretty rough, and the restaurant gets crowded at lunch hour.

Plates are ordered at the counter and meats are cut in front of you. Restaurant is pretty new, and clean, just wish they'd smooth the unpaved parking lot.

Be sure to get there early in the lunch hour, 'cause they close up when they run out of meat - it gets that busy!

Just ate here tonight and was impressed.

Had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Really good! Surprisingly good!

Friendly staff, good service and the prices were very reasonable.

There was a live band, well a couple of guys playing guitar and singing. I thought it was a little loud and hard to talk to one another. Had to try and chat between songs.

Overall, the food was good and that is what I came for. I will return to try more of their tasty grub.

I am working in the area for four months. Several of us started going to the Red Dog for lunch. You can get anything from a great hamburger to meals such as Rib Platters, Grilled fish, shrimp platters and more. It's very busy at lunch time due to the number of oil field workers, but Red Dog is spacious and we seldom have to wait to be seated.
It is a good value for the money spent and the food is very good.
The facilities are also kept very clean.
My only complaint is the driveway and parking areas are not paved and quite bumpy in places.

They say you can judge a Mexican restaurant by its Spanish rice and beans. Both were horrible.

The rice was some kind of dirty rice dish, which was not appetizing at all. Service seems to favor certain patrons. A group of 4 which arrived and ordered 5 minutes after me received their orders before I did. I'm just one person. I didn't order anything complicated (chicken fajitas). The fajitas were okay, but rather meager portions.

I tried the place for variety's sake, but I won't be back.

Decor is from a few decades ago, but that was definitely part of the experience/charm! Meal options are of the home cooked variety, with enough choices to please most people. We had the Hamburger Steak, which came with the salad bar, and a Chicken Salad Sandwich. Portions were generous, and the salad bar was fresh. Service was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Prices were also quite reasonable.
Wouldn’t hesitate to return, next time we’re in Kenedy.

On the plus side, you get a LOT of food for the money. But, it is not very good.

The salsa was dreadful and the chips were stale. The refried beans were bland.

My husband had the fajita chicken quesadilla, and he liked it. I tasted it, and it was just o.k. It had a lot of melted cheese, and the meat was good, but it had to "punch" (spice/flavor). The cheese dripped grease as he ate it.

I had the (2) Shrimp Chalupas, which were interesting. It said it came with refried beans, and it did, just not like I expected. I expected shrimp on the chalupa and refreid beans on the side. Each chalupa had a layer of refried beans, then shrimp, then chopped lettuce, then Pico de Gallo. It was o.k., and not greasy, but not great.

I would give it a pass and just eat at the Taco Bell.
