An Hawaiian twist on an old american favorite...

***Friday Night you will find me in Hanapepe at the Art Walk from 5:30-9. Not in Waimea***
Food truck located in Waimea.........Happy and eager to please caterers. Easy to find, lots of parking, and covered table to enjoy your meal. Very popular food truck and quite busy around the meal times. When we were there, they are closed Monday and Tuesday......but just check somewhere on the internet in the future as those days may change.
3 things on the menu to chose from. Sausage dog, hot dog and grill cheese, each slathered in a pulled pork topping with your choice of mild or hot and spicy BBQ sauce. We sampled all three and they were all awesome. I liked the sausage dog the best but they are all very well done.

This restaurant is located on PMRF, so you must have base access to dine here. If you do, it is well worth it. There is a bar and large indoor dining area, but the best experience is on the lanai at sunset. It is a seat yourself restaurant, waitress will bring your menu, take your drink order return with drinks and take your food order. Service is adequate, food is decent, with a good selection of items, what you would expect on a military base. But both pale in comparison to the sun setting behind Ni'ihau. Recommend dining here.

We stopped by hoping they would have reusable shopping bags to purchase that said Menehune Mart, because who doesn't love the menehune? They did not, but we did buy some cute hot/cold bags that were in various sizes including lunch box size, which had Hawaiian graphics such as sea turtles, shave ice, flowers, or island scenes. The snacks were similar to 7-11 but they also had "real" food like butter and milk, plus various local or Hawaiian brands of snacks and even bread. Best of all was the very friendly cashier who helped us with a big smile! It was quite similar to any 7-11 or other convenience store but still had some extra products we were happy to purchase.

If you have base access, this Subway is located main side PMRF. A great place to grab a sandwich or 2, for your day trip to Waimea Canyon or Polihale.

Little Fish Coffee Kauai is a purveyor of specialty coffee. We offer high quality, locally sourced and roasted coffees, amazing espresso drinks, healthy smoothies, acai bowls loaded with fresh Kauai fruit, bagels, sandwiches, paninis and salads. We have three Kauai locations for all your coffee needs: Hanapepe, Poipu, and Koke’e.
Nice little outlet with very decent espresso (macchiatos) from a La Marzocco machine. Had a granola fruit yoghurt bowl too, which was very good. They have a little backyard surrounded by little art galleries. Friendly staff Worth it

Kekaha, the last city of west Kauai. This local residential area doesn't have too much for tourists however few stores are available here, this Thrifty Mart is one of them
More of a convenience/liquor/snack shop, its a good place for a "pick-me-up". Myself being a poke fan, I do recommend it. Freshly homemade and tasty. Not your ABC stores but a local family run store.

Organic artisan bakery.
Great little bakery with delicious sandwiches served beautifully. Open faced prosciutto with shredded cheese, arugula and balsamic was delicious. Also had the grilled prosciutto with brie. Turkey sandwich was excellent - fresh Turkey (not deli meat) with a pesto mayo and dijon. Best of all was cinnamon danish with macadamia nuts!!

We stopped by this wonderful supermarket to stock up on some various poke before our drive to Waimea Canyon. Huge selection of Poke and Tako. Some really good deals on Japanese bento lunch box as well. I only wish there was another location of this great joint in Kapaa where we stayed for our week long vacation in Kauai! Service is excellent too.

We are the original JoJo's! Although we have expanded with a second location in Hanalei, our goal has remained the same - to offer the ultimate in shave ice on Kauai! We don't use commercially made syrups that most of the others buy. Instead we carefully make our own syrups with a lot less sugar but even more flavor. No corn syrup. Only pure cane sugar and some of the freshest Hawaiian flavors. Combine this with our JoJo's "da secret sauce" i.e. homemade creams, countless flavor combinations/add-on's, one of the greatest shave ice machines and you've got unmatched fluffy shave ice! In addition, we are committed to giving half of our profits to Makanalani, a camp for less privileged youth right here on the Island! We love our community just as much as they love us! Come in today and see why our shave ice is a local and tourist favorite! Mahalo!
It's been many years since my last visit to JoJo's. I usually stop after hiking in the Waimea canyon and Na Pali trails. I got their most popular, a rainbow of flavors with mac ice cream in the bottom and coconut milk on top. It was busy but no wait. So good!

Stopped by here during the Art Walk. We had tasted their soup elsewhere and really liked it so it was a no brainer to try their restaurant. Everything we had was very good and we liked that we could go down the street, pick up our own wine or beer and bring it back with no corkage fee.
