What a great place! Fresh baked goodies and homemade soups and take n bake dinners and fresh salads and sandwiches! This place has definitely broadened my food horizons! I recently learned that I find curried couscous to be quite delightful! They also have a lot of gluten free options and source local eggs and fruits and vegetables. Really bringing farm to table to this town!

A pleasant building in a lovely area.
We stopped for lunch on a warm lovely Fall day. The building is a almost overdone Adirondack collection of stick furniture but still nice. The sandwich’s were very ordinary. The house Home baked bread is nothing to brag about. Just plain white bread locally baked. Service was OK. If your hungry you won’t mind the so so food.

This small coffee shop caught our eye as we were traveling through the area. We were so pleased we stopped. The drinks were expertly prepared and the treats were delicious. Very friendly staff and we enjoyed the break sitting at the bar in the front window watching the small town life out the window. Definitely stop by and visit while in the area.

Noon Mark Diner

Three of my buddies and I visited Noon Mark as we were heading out of the 'Dacks on a rainy Monday morning. We'd heard and read great things about it...AND it was down the street from the Mountaineer where we were headed next.

There was a little bit of a wait...not surprisingly...but there was room out on the covered porch to wait and it moved quite quickly given the large crowd. As we were told, don't be freaked out if your table wasn't cleared when they seat you...it's just the way it is, it's a busy place but they take great care of you.

Each of us devoured our breakfast plates. Large portions (not crazy though) and incredibly well done, tasty food. Very polite and engaging folks who work there...it was a super treat and I'd highly recommend it!

We went there after hiking a mountain in the region, service is excellent, the food is excellent too. Entrées go around $15-20, beer $6, I'd recommend this place to anyone that is passing in this region as the view outside is magnificent.

I would definitely go back to this place

Keene Valley Ausable Inn

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Fries were good but burger rolls were both stale which may reflect limited turnover. Burgers were nicely dressed though with fresh tomatoes, onions, lettuce and avocado.
The house salad was disappointing- a few sad bits of iceberg and romaine, one cherry tomato and the ubiquitous croutons. And to be fair, I should know better than to order a salad at a pub, and if I do order one in the country, I should expect iceberg and croutons.
There were some soup specials on the board which we would have chosen were it not a stifling 90 degrees. Service was decent and the bartender seemed to know his beers. If you're here ask for house made specials- I have a feeling we weren't seeing the best they had to offer.

Warm, friendly service, nice atmosphere, quiet, and the best meal I have had in ages. (Keith and Lanai do a wonderful job.) Our party of four each had a different main course, and then we all shared forkfuls. Every entrée was outstanding, healthy, locally sourced, and reasonably priced (similar to other good restaurants in the area). We will be back (as soon as possible). They also cater.

Rivermede Farm Market

Reviewed By CJRowan - Pipersville, Pennsylvania

I went through the trouble to add Rivermede onto Trip Advisor so people would make it a priority to stop here.

We stopped in three times on our trip to Keene's Dartbrook Lodge. Knowing we had a kitchen to work with, our possibilities opened up when we stopped at Rivermede. Our first stop was to supply ourselves for a trip up Indian Head. We grabbed some dill and cheddar scones (fantastic), trail mix (nice and salty), and some honeycrisp apples (big and full of flavor). I made sure to sample their coffee, too (perfect on a cold day).

When we finished the hike we decided on post-hike food from Rivermede. We picked up more apples to have with cheddar and their local honey. We also grabbed a tub of their butternut squash soup with ginger. It had a satisfying zing to it.

When we begrudgingly had to leave the Adirondacks, we automatically stopped at Rivermede to pick up a couple more apples, more trail mix, more scones, and some small stuff for the long trip home.

They had cider in a crock pot simmering making the whole market smell like quintessential fall in the Adirondacks. We even bought more soup to have when we got home in a vain attempt to extend the Adirondacks south. It worked out.

Obviously their offerings are seasonal. After talking with the owner he stated it was a great year for maple syrup. Be sure to loop a finger around one of their jug handles to take home. If you're staying somewhere that has a kitchen and someone likes to cook, this could be the better way to go than the typical burgers and fries somewhere up the road.

Fat Daddy's food truck

Reviewed By DiFronge - South Berwick, Maine

I was getting pretty hungry as we were traveling and suddenly, just as we were nearing I-87, I see a sandwich board on the side of the road advertising gyros. Just ahead there was a white food truck and a lot of cars parked near it filled with people happily eating. This is the place to stop! Well, not only is the food good, fresh and hot, but Fat Daddy himself is quite the character! The food is fast and very, very reasonably priced. He is there year round, evidently cooking outdoors in summer. Seriously folks, I am a bit squeamish about food trucks but this is the one to stop at if you are traveling around Exit 30 off the Northway.
