Pleasant and cozy atmosphere, a hotel with a little kitschy style, for my taste, but the rooms are themed with a different design, which is interesting. We were in the Golden Double Room; …. Unfortunately we only had 1 nightstand, I don't know for what reason, we were deprived of the second one; …. There was a dead wasp in the drawer of the only nightstand; … In the second "Golden" room, my daughter found someone's socks on the floor, apparently left by a previous client. True, they were under the curtain next to the nightstand, but house keeping still had to see them somehow; …. The curtains are not black out, i.e. when the sun shines in the morning, you have no option to sleep a bit more. Feel…. …. Good service, but without face masks; …. If you forgot a reading before sleep and are staying at the Diamond Hotel, check the drawers for books. I guess they were left by the hotel to have something for the guests to read if they didn't take it. They were in both the rooms we accommodated; …. The room door locks are with keys instead of cards, which is a certain inconvenience, especially if you need 2 pieces per room. You just can't get them, while if there were cards, they could be programmed for each guest in the room. Also, the door is openable from the outside, which means that you must lock it from the inside. Yes, but the key has a plate for the electricity, which automatically means that you have to disconnect the key from the plate; …. Great convenience is the location of the hotel - at the beginning of the pedestrian zone, near the historical museum and within walking distance of the center, Kazanlak tomb, Park Rosarium. Hear…. …. It is very noisy at night because of the street, even with the windows closed. To read the full review and see a short movie about Hotel Diamond, visit the review and rate blog placescases. Smell…. .… The shower gel from the cosmetics in the bathroom smelled more like toiletries. I expected the shampoos to be based on rose oil, since we are in the capital of roses, but my expectations were not met. Only the soap smelled of a rose. Better bring your own shower gel and shampoo. I booked a table for four people on a Sunday evening despite suspecting it would be empty. When I arrived, the waiter was definitely not in a mood yo serve me as he kept ignoring me. I had to tell him that I wanted to be served. Keep I'm mind that I was the only guest of the restaurant at that point. When the rest of the group arrived, the waiter kept being disrespectful to them especially when taking their order. The food for two of us arrived 15 minutes after order which was fine, but the rest of the group had to wait extra 30 minutes (unfortunately, I am not exaggerating) for their meals. We did not receive an apology for that at all! My meal, a rissoto, was too undercooked when I returned it, no apology again. When I received the check, the rissoto was on the check, an item that I didn't consume, when I raised the issue to the waiter, he abruptly stated that people usually pay for the food they didn't eat... No need to say that I would not set a foot in there ever again! I do not recommend it at all!

Some positive and some negative points. Prices are very expensive (overpriced looking quality / price ) and are also depending the month you are, even out of roses festival. Rooms are about correct but basic for the standard ones, they all are small, and sometimes old fashion. Be aware that the "wine bottle offered" with the "superior room" is a small bottle (1 or 2 glass), bathroom is quite basic. Breakfast is very simple. Some fruit and water free all day but very basic also. Nice balcony with many roses, and the view is very good. very good location in the center in front of a central place. We were there in May (not during roses festival) and we had to pay for the parking of the hotel.

Superb room and accommodation car park controlled by barrier. Speaks excellent English and very positive on customer service. Front door secured and it’s very easy to use. The room I would say 10/10 very clean all you need for a short break, recommend Damyanov guest house. Restaurants shops and general requirements all close to the guest house.

I spent just one night at the Zornica but I was very impressed for the cost! Simple but very clean hotel, friendly staff and a great restaurant adjoining the hotel. Although I didn't use the indoor pool look great. The outdoor pool was out of use as it's now out of season. The view from restaurant and pool is great! Breakfast was simple and self service - my only very small issue would be, I'd love the choice of some filter coffee but the Bulgarian coffee certainly gave me a rush. Overall, a very nice hotel and great value.

Grand Hotel Kazanlak is situated in the city centre of Kazanlak. My pics are from 8th of June 2014. On this date was the Roses festival, which was perfectly organised. I was for the first time on this kind of festival and was amazed!

Pros: Relatively quiet place. Near to the city and shops. Spacious rooms. Nice pool. Decent price. Polite staff. Cons: No fridge in the room. We were charged 80 levs, though in booking.com the price was, and still is, 69 levs. No food included. Funky smell in the bathroom.
