Excellent lunch on a quiet weekday. Baked cheese and then baked pork with raisins and prunes, excellent. Finished with a Greek coffee and iced espresso. Nice family restaurant: two nearby tables with kids doing their schoolwork, great to see real life happening while we enjoyed lunch!

A very nice restaurant, initially thought it is Italian but it offers Italian and Greek dishes with flair.
The food is well prepared and tastes extremely well. We tried several vegeterian dishes and all were really good.
Friendly service in a warm nicely decorated room, well worth the visit.

Great food. No ordinary dishes. Not local cuisine but tasteful. You can also find a good list of wine.

We ate here on two occasions and could not praise this family run restaurant highly enough. The food was delicious on each occasion, ample servings, service both quick and friendly. The son Chris, spoke good English, which helped in our selection choice.
His father was the chef and came out to bid us farewell after our meals on both evenings.
Easy to find, plenty of parking next to the restaurant.
Not to be missed if you value quality food and service.

This place is great, no cigarettes are allowed inside the place, clean air. And clean food. I was shocked at how great it is.

Greek traditional food.
Katsarola is a nice restaurant quite clean and the service is not bad. We did not like the food at all (Poor quality, very small portions) and did not enjoined it, but to say the truth, it was not expensive.

The name of that tavern 'kopsidia', is exactly what you can taste thete ! A avriety of excellent food, special meat plates, but very tasty sea food too. Not a great variety, remember, you are in a town 700m over sea in the Mountains... Taste what the waiter will propose you and enjoy your dinner with live music from Vasso and Pnagiota !!!

Archontariki (taverna-ouzeri-restaurant) welcomes everyone with handmade greek meze, local traditional cuisine which consists of meat and fish, fresh and pure ingredients and a breathtaking view, you will never forget!
Whoever's doing the cooking at this taverna/ouzerie next to Kastoria's amazing Orestiade lake is a dab hand. We had only one meal here, but it was zinging-fresh and brilliantly executed. The wait staff were chaming, given that they were also feeding a vast group of Russians who may or may not have been buying up the furs for which this city has long been known.
We ate at this taverna after a walk along the lake shore to the Panagia Mavriotissa monastery and back. The paintings there are splendid, but there is no cafe en route or there, making the Archontariki all the more brilliantly placed. In spring, summer and autumn, the lake also teems with wildlife, from frogs and (harmless) water snakes to several species of fish and the odd pelican. Lunch or dinner, in short, with quite a view.

We found this by accident, looking for a late lunch. It is right on the lake front and although it doesn't look much from the outside, it was a real find! We ordered lots of starters to share, meze style and everything was delicious and different. 'Last Wish Saganaki' or 'Saturday 'Salad' ... Yum! Nothing was too much trouble and they were so helpful with local area advice. The taverna itself is in an old building, rather dark but lots of atmosphere and history. Really pleased with the portion sizes and the prices. We'd happily go back to try other things if we had time.
