The location is a bit far from the station, unless you live in Kashiwa and would like to try some special tonkatsu, I wouldn't recommend it for family outings. The waiting time for the food to be served is too long for family with kids, too.
And price too steep. They do have great seasonal special fries.

Lumbini in Kashiwa started in a cramped shop with a counter and a few tables, but some time ago they really spent big (it seems) and fitted out a large place with a Nepalese interior, including carvings and the centre piece, something that looks to...MoreHi, Ben!! Very stylish restaurant with open kitchen and horizon views.
The menu is small but a good range to choose from including vegetarian/vegan option as well as meat options. Choose your menu item then while you wait you can help yourself to the Veg buffet!
All traditional Japanese style cuisine and atmosphere. The food is locally grown and made fresh as you watch them make it in the open kitchen.
Free top up of purple or white rice as well as free miso soup top up.
I have been here as a couple, with my mother in law, with friends and I will take my Australian family here when they visit. Its a wonderful restaurant to taste the authentic taste of Japan for both meat eaters and vegan/veg.
Very top floor of the Takashimaya station mall (entrance closest to TOBU Park line gates)

When ever we have a chance to come to Japan, we always go to Himuro. My husband, especially, who is not Japanese, loves their Ramen, and I really enjoy their dishes as well. When I have my first spoonfull of their Ramen soup it brings me joy and happiness and I say to myself " I am home..".

My in-laws are Japanese and live in Kashiwa, and every single time we visit from America they take us here. This eel is as good as any thing you'll get in a (more expensive) Tokyo restaurant. Highly recommend for tourists, expats, and Japanese alike!

We went to Tsukiji fish market early to eat the famous breakfast sushi meaning that since you are near the worlds largest fish market the sushi fish would be fresh. Unfortunately I am not such a food gourmet to appreciate this type of sushi. My friend of 30 years explained that this is the old Edo type sushi where the fish is prepared to hide the unfreshness by doing things to it, so he paid and stuttered hearing the bill. So couple days later he took me to his favorite sushi place and I was not happy because it was a kaiten sushi or conveyer belt sushi, where you pick up dishes as it goes by. The secret my friend says is to order what you want to the chef and it wasn't bad at all and cheap. 1/4 the price of Tsukiji. There were 4 of us and ate like pigs and came out to be $70 which sounds not so cheap in USD but in Yen its cheap with drinks. All the sushi I ordered directly to the chef was great few of the ones I got off the belt was not so good so just stick with ordering from the chef.

The pizzas and the dishes in general have improved since they employed an Italian pizzaiolo (pizza maker) and his Japanese wife who learned to cook in Florence. Definitely a place to come back as prices are affordable and food is very good.
