It can be challenging to find an English speaker in Trang if you are a tourist there so this cafe is the place to be! Friendly atmosphere and delicious/creative food where you can mingle with the locals and travelers alike. Ask for Dear, the chatty lady, she's a unique source of energy ;)

They have made an effort here to make you feel like you are in a quiet serene place. Sitting between tall trees, water fools and fish pools you could be in the jungle. The food is good and the manager speaks English as is happy to help. A little out of town but worth the ride for lunch or dinner.

We were in Trang for half a day transiting to Lipe Island in Satun Province the next morning. We did not carry out any prior research on this city and hired a local Tuk Tuk to take us around for a city tour. The driver recommended this place and we were in for a very pleasant surprise. The place is tastefully decorated and the food are delicious! Too bad we missed the morning Dim Sum service, so we ordered some recommended dishes i.e. "Hoi Jor" (Deep fried Crabmeat Roll) which was mouth watering.... We ordered a couple more dishes with rice as a quick lunch option. The Stir Fried squid with pickled egg on rice was also good! We will make proper planning before we visit this nice little town again sometime ; )

Dim Sum , coffee , Roast pork or moo yang Trang
Firstly, this review was about the dinner, not about breakfast as we did not try the breakfast. The indoor setting was good. Next, many items were not available or only available during breakfast. We ordered a few char kueh, bah kut teh, shrimp rolls, and a few dishes. The restaurant did not served beer, so we ordered Chinese tea. Finally, the comment. Though it was not expensive, food was very average to poo. A bad dinner experience in Trang.

Thailand's version of dim sum is a bit different compared to the Malaysian version or even HK's .. the serving size is a bit small. However, the variety is plenty to satisfy the taste buds. Throw in Trang's famous roast pork, char-koay and porride, it is enough to fill up the bio-fuel cell in one self.
The owner speaks decent English and is extremely friendly. However, parking could be a tad problem during peak hours in the morning
'Damage' is pretty affordable

We just happened upon this bar/restaurant located on the one way park roundabout near to the Big shopping mall in Trang City. Very busy with locals on a Monday night, lovely ambiance, tasteful Thai band playing various Western/Thai numbers. Food menu based locally, but western dishes also available. The food was quick and delicious, the cocktails appealing and tasteful, staff pleasant and in abundance. The setting was beautiful, coconut trees at the entrance, open air with central water feature, tasteful lights outside, all in all a very enjoyable experience and very much recommended.

Hat Yao is a tiny little village but it is where the Long Tailed Boats go to the various Islands... Koh Libong, Koh Mook etc.
This restaurant is perched on stilts by the ferry jetty and serves absolutely delicious and totally Thai Seafood. We have eaten there about five times as we stay in the small hotel, Baan Chao Mai Beach House, which is nearby. My partner is Thai so she ordered various Thai dishes and I enjoyed them all... some superb crabs,(see photo), which were very large by Thai normal standards and perfect.
The prawn dishes are also excellent and we highly recommend this restaurant and in fact it is so good that you should delay your departure, or pause after your arrival, and have a meal here.... you will not regret it!!

Had dinner there last night and was not disappointed. Right on main street about 2 blocks from train station. Not super fancy, but just good food at a fair price. Had roast duck last night....delicious. Will go back again. Seems to be open later than most so if its after 8pm and you're hungry...here's your place.

Trang is well known for its blend of Thai and Chinese cuisine.
We were recommended Trang Muu Yaang for a breakfast and were not disappointed. This place was packed by the locals and we were the only foreigners here. Not knowing the custom we were standing in front of the eaterie and the owner noticed us, invited us inside, in English.
We ordered the roasted pork, local specialty, where the whole pig is marinated for 8 hours and then roasted for 2 hours. The taste was just exquisite.
In addition the waitress brought a large platter with many small plates of dim sum for us to choose. You pay only for those plates you eat, so no need to feel obliged to finish everything. The meal was very good, too.
The breakfast is accompanied by a tea, coffee and a sweet desert with a bean paste.
