Met some friends for breakfast. I usually love anything I get, and enjoy my time there....not this trip. The fans were going as usual, but they were blowing such strong smells from the kitchen that our eyes were watering (we moved tables twice...others who sat where we did, did the same thing). I went to order and the following happened, MeâIâll take the scrambled eggs and toast, but Iâd like egg whites pleaseHimâwe canât do thatMeâoh. Do you use real eggs?Himâof course!Meâgreat! Then you should be able to just give me egg whitesHimâno. We canât do that...we use a machine.Meâ(seeing the eggs behind him) so, you canât just crack three of those for me and leave out the yolk?Himâno.MeâIâll just have oatmeal then Which was terrible. Iâve been all over and had eggs MULTIPLE places, and never, ever did they say they couldnât accommodate me...even places like Dennyâs can do egg whites! I wonât be going back...Iâll go to Succotash instead....

There has always been a small restaurant at the âCornerâ in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they
Busting our daughter who lives in Kansas City and we took her family here for a late breakfast. We were told our wait would be 10 minutes and 30 minutes later we were seated. Waitress came by for drink orders and did not come back to take our food order for another 20 minutes. When she brought our drinks we told her we were ready to order and she said she couldnât take our our because a larger group was seated prior to us. Food was good. Cup of coffee with not worth $2.29. Very busy, very noisy so just make sure you have no other plans when you go here to eat. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience and we are so sorry that this happened during your visit. Clearly, we fell short of your expectations and ours. If you would be so kind to send your contact information to [email protected], we would like to follow up with you directly. Thank you.

Not much of a wait for 2 on a Sunday morning but parties of 4 or more needed to exercise a little patience. There is outdoor seating available along the sidewalk. The hostess was very welcoming & pleasant as was our server. Food was served promptly & piling hot. French toast was tasty. Sweet potato hash filled with veggies with added avocado was absolutely magnificent. Plenty of seating throughout, bar area & rustic decor.Meter parking available.

We came for Sunday brunch. They have an efficient method of letting you know when the table is ready, they text you. The service was very friendly and helpful. We are vegetarian and the menu was well marked and many veggie and vegan options. The portions are very large. We each ordered something else and tasted which was great. Would highly recommend.

I was at the City Market around lunch time and there was not much for normal people. Then I spotted this Ethiopian place and it was God send. They had a lunch buffett with all the typical Ethiopian dishes. It was filling and wonderful. Try the fresh ginger drink as well.

This cute brunch place just south of the Plaza on Main is a good place to have a weekend brunch. Unfortunately they do not even know how to toast a bagel. How hard can that be. Maybe it got tossed onto the hot grill, or stuck in a toaster over to heat it up. But it was pretty pathetic. The rest of the table had what looked to be better prepared eggs, etc. I give them a C minus for my mediocre "brunch."

I thought the concept of "Cafe Gratitude" was to bring in those who cannot afford a fancy meal (prices are not cheap here) and the "haves" and "have nots" could share a table and a meal. That doesn't seem to happen at this location. Apparently, according to our server, the California locations have more of that - people donating to pay it forward so that others who come in can have a subsidized, discounted meal. Anyway, the food was good. Service good. Atmosphere is funky chic - hippy-esque. It is a tasty spot. Would not mind popping in again next time we are in Kansas City.
