Things to do in Newton
This past week I took my daughter and her three children to the Pizza Hut in Newton, Kansas for lunch for their buffet and salad bar. The kids had certificates from school to use and they were excited to go... so off we went! Arriving shortly after noon, we were wating to be seated when we noticed that even though there weren't very many cars in the parking lot and less than a third of the tables had people seated, every other table was covered in dirty plates and silverware from the previous customers. So we waited for a table to be cleared for us, noticing the shortage of staff. When the waitress came to seat us she took our drink orders as we were standing there... to save time I am sure... and when we stated we only wanted water she informed us that as part of the buffet the drinks were included we explained that water was fine... and she went on to explain that water would be great but that the receipt would reflect a charge for drinks but it wouldn't be added onto the final bill... "so please don't yell at me ",.. so my daughter explained that we would not be yelling at her and asked her what was wrong. Well, they had exactly THREE PEOPLE working the lunch crowd that day. This sweet gal was waiting tables, one other lady was trying to keep the salad bar and pizza bar stocked and bus tables when she could, and one poor guy was making Pizza as fast as one guy could in the back! THAT WAS IT! I will say that those three deserved to be commended because they did EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE to try to make it a nice lunch.... but they just couldn't keep up! DOES THIS PLACE EVEN HAVE A MANAGER? OR AN OWNER? Good Lord you have got to be kidding! I really felt sorry for those three people... they had NO CHANCE to make it a good experience for everyone, and it's evident Management Stinks... I don't have a clue who the owner of this franchise is, but if I were them I'd darn sure be paying attention! The food was decent, and I know those three gave it their best, so I really hate giving another low rating to a Newton Restaurant... but I would rate the service as GREAT... the food as a low mediocre, and it'll be a while before I can forget this experience and go back.
Fast and friendly service. Food is fairly good but can be very greasy. Little Ceasers is a great place for a quick meal.
My kids love the taco pizza. We eat it on a regular basis, different staff make it different ways so be specific when ordering. A little more expensive than other pizza chains
The normal Papa John's. Not much to expect but not much to complain about either. Want a American style pizza, this is the place to go to.

Brick oven pizza.
I had a quick pizza and salad tonight at the Back Alley Pizza. The pizza was actually pretty good!!!! The salad was palatable and I also had a root beer. (no alcohol). You go in and order yourself, pay for the food, and sit down until they call your number. The guys making the pizzas were great and the whole place felt like an old-fashioned throwback to the past. Plenty of on the street parking and itâs one of the favorite places for the locals!!!......always a good sign!!!!!
