Walking into Daisy House Atlantic the first thing you'll notice is the eclectic, shabby chic decor--you might wonder if you're still in Atchison, Kansas or if you've just wandered into a Lawrence, KS or Crossroads neighborhood business. But. no, you're still in Atchison, and Daisy's (as the regulars call the place) is one of the best places to eat and hang out with friends.Daisy House Atlantic shares a building with Backround Atlas, a refurbished furniture and home decor store. In addition to the eclectic decor the building is really neat: it's spacious with tall ceilings and a little bit of an industrial feel,There are also some great events going on here, such as Jam Night every Wednesday. I also love the collection of games at Daisy's--this is definitely a place where you can sit and relax and won't be rushed out.Owner Daisy Henson takes great pride in making delicious, fresh food every day. She also tries to use local items, such as eggs from a local farmer and Atchison's Ghost Roast coffee. She has a selection of mostly sweet treats that change every day. Items that rotate in and out include caramel apples and different kinds of pull aparts and cakes. You can almost always find Daisy's cinnamon rolls and coffee cake every day. Her pastries are sweet and flavorful, but not so decadent you feel horrible after. Daisy also offers seasonal baked goods for special events. Need pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving? She can do it. Chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day? That, too.I enjoy the savory items just as much as the sweet, though. Daisy's menu constantly changes since she tries to cook seasonally. One day she could have flatbread pizza, the next country-style ribs. Daisy makes a delicious breakfast bowl, which is a bread, egg, cheese, and sausage mixture cooked in a muffin tin. She also usually has a few sandwiches, especially her Kansas Chicken Salad, and a soup.Atchison isn't known for its great dining options, but it's getting better and better with each restaurant opening. Daisy House Atlantic provides a delicious alternative to the greasy, fried, and sauce-covered (though delicious) options. Definitely worth a try for anyone visiting Atchison.

Visited store 30 minutes prior to closing on Saturday evening; Ordered a grasshopper blizzard..."Sorry, we are out of vanilla ice cream." Then followed for a brownie cookie dough. "Uhhh, we are out of cookie dough." How does a Dairy Queen not have ice cream on a Saturday night? No wonder the car ahead of us pulled away without receiving anything and neither did we....! I bet the machines were clean and all lights were out at the stroke of closing.
