Barley's Kitchen + Tap opened its doors in 1995 with its first location in Overland Park. Micro brews, macro brews, and imports from all corners of the globe make up our impressive selection of beer that we offer on tap (not to mention the bottled favorit
We decided to sit at the bar which was our first mistake. My husband order beer and after trying to order 2 different drinks that are a staple at any other bar I was told that the bartender didn't know the first one and that he had no sambuca for the second one. No problem, my next choice was o.k. After reading the specials and being ignored. Our bartender decided to have a conversation with another employee from one end of the bar to the other about his frozen balls, yes you are reading this correctly. If that wasn't off putting enough, my husband asked him to refrain from speaking about his blue balls, yes another direct quote, he told him that we do not have a choice in the matter and that his conversation wasn't really relevant to us. I proceeded to speak to the manager about this, which was our second mistake of the evening. Even though he apologized to us for the behavior of the bartender I got the feeling was being patronized and nothing will be done about this. We payed our bill and left. Conversation like this among employees has no place in a restaurant that supposedly prides its self as being a family oriented establishment. I am palled by this.Hi Sabine! Oh no! we're sorry to see this 1 star review, this is certainly not how we intend to treat our guests. We take reviews very seriously and address each one. If you have time to discuss further, please email [email protected] - truly sorry again.
This restaurant is conveniently located right in the water park, so no ned to leave all the fun. The burger was juicy, the chicken tenders were breaded but not too much, the fries were crispy and the pretzel was pretty big and tasty, especially with the cheese sauce to dip it in.

We were staying at a Comfort Suites motel and Simple Simon's was on the list of delivery places that we got from the front desk. My husband was worried that the pizza would be cold because it would be coming from over 7 miles away, but he needn't have worried. It was still plenty warm. The garlic cheese breadsticks were good. The pizza was definitely better than large chain pizza places. It was also a little more expensive, but worth it. The pizzas are also smaller than you'd find at a chain restaurant. The large was about the equivalent of a chain's medium. I wouldn't say that it's the "best pizza ever" as other reviewers claim, but it IS good. It was even better the next day. Delivery time is average...it took about 45 minutes.

This location has a number of good and tasty sandwiches. Writing this while waiting for the order. Oddly enough, the first question asked was, "for your order, what is your phone number?". I explained that I wanted the order to go. He said, "you cannot order without a telephone number." So I provided the number and waited. He then asked for my order and all went okay. I wonder why cash orders are not accepted without a number. Perhaps for health department reasons.

This is my favorite pizza in Kansas City, and in 30 years we have tried it all! On several occasions we have reserved the private room for team events, and the service has been outstanding.

While the food tasted great and the prices were fair, our family quickly came to regret our Friday night visit. The first red flag came soon after we were seated at a sticky table. Our young daughter unscrewed the cap of the parmesan cheese to uncover dark, orange, mold-like growth on the caked on cheese stuck to the inside of the shaker. We should have walked away then. But not wanting to be rude, we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, my husband went up to the staff who were busily chatting away with each other to see what had happened to our pizza. It had been accidentally packaged as a To Go order and had been sitting out at room temperature for a minimum of 20 minutes. It was lukewarm when we received it, but being hungry and now having fussy kids in tow, we ate it. A few hours after getting home, the symptoms started. Our family was bedridden for the rest of the weekend.I hate giving out poor reviews, but unfortunately this was a terrible experience I would like to prevent others from having. Our visit was a few months ago, and I sincerely hope they have cleaned up since then. However, I would still urge any would-be patron to look for signs of overall cleanliness before committing to eating there.
If you love pizza with cracker-thin crust, this is your place for pizza. The toppings are flavorful and a side salad to accompany the meal is a must. "The pink stuff" is the house salad dressing and wonderful. This business is family owned and you will almost always find a member of that family working. The pizza is served in a timely manner, just about the time you finish your salad. And be sure to ask for your soda to go and they will give you an entire full soda to drink on the way home.

We have been eating at Pizza West for 3 years now. It is delicious! My personal favorite is the tall grass veggie without olives on thin crust. The lunch buffet is awesome for the kids. I always have a punch card with me in case we stop in. The chicken wings are amazing as well. We go back time and time again. You just canât beat their taste! We love it so much we had my daughterâs bday there and now own shirts from there. We may be a little obsessed.
